On Monday, DeMarcus Nelson and Panathinaikos managed to extend their time in EuroLeague by just holding off CSKA Moscow in Game 3 of the quarterfinals as action shifted from Russia to Greece.  DeMarcus had 4 points in 10 minutes.  Antonis Fotsis had 12 points and James Gist had 11 points.  In the loss, ex-Arkansas player Sonny Weems had 24 points, ex-NBA player Nando De Colo had 19 points, Andrei Kirilenko continued to regain his rhythm from his NBA days with 11 points and 7 rebounds, and ex-UNC Greensboro player Kyle Hines had 10 points.

On Tuesday, DeMarcus Nelson and Panathinaikos started the EuroLeague Quarterfinals with Game 1 of the best of five series in Russia against powerhouse CSKA Moscow, losing 93-66.  DeMarcus had 2 points in 9 minutes.  James Gist had 14 points and Loukas Mavrokefalidis had 10 points.  In the win, ex-Syracuse player Demetris Nichols had 13 points and Andrei Kirilenko had 12 points as he makes his return to Europe after leaving the NBA.

On Wednesday, the playoffs started in Turkey without Lindsey Harding due to disputes between Edirne and its American players, who all returned home and left the remaining players with difficult task against top seed Galatasaray and led to an 84-34 Game 1 loss.  In the win, ex-Houston player Sancho Lyttle had 24 points and 12 rebounds.

Without Lindsey Harding and the other American players, Edirne had their season ended with a 96-42 loss to Galatasaray in Game 2 of the quarterfinals.  Ex-Stanford player Sebnem Kimyacioglu had 10 points in the win.  After not heading overseas during the last WNBA offseason, Lindsey made her way to Turkey this season and regained her rhythm and scoring touch with the ability to play a large number of minutes.  Her strong individual statistics helped the team grab the final playoff spot even though she did not end up playing until the end of the season.

On Wednesday, Tricia Liston and Cagliari tried to keep their season alive, but fell 74-62 at home in the second game of the quarterfinals against Schio.  Tricia led all scorers with 16 points in 33 minutes.  Lauma Reke added 15 points and 8 rebounds.  In the win, ex-South Carolina player Iva Sliskovic and ex-WNBA player Raffaella Masciadri had 10 points each.  Tricia completes her first season overseas with possibly the strongest individual season in Italy, willing her team to the last spot in the playoffs to improve on their performance from their last season despite a flurry of midseason roster issues.

Kathleen Scheer and the Hobart Chargers started their season by edging out the Sandringham Sabres 76-73.  This year marks the third for Kathleen on the island of Tasmania where the team competes in the regionally based SEABL, one of several State Leagues that run during the offseason of Australia's national league.  Last season the team made the final before losing as Kathleen scored more points than any other player in the league.  With many of the players locally based, the team roster does not change that much each season as it now has three former San Diego players with returnees Izzy Chilcott and Klara Wischer and newcomer Amy Kame, who has not reported to the team yet after just finishing her European season.  In this game, Kathleen quickly showed her scoring touch by leading all scorers with 28 points and added 15 rebounds as she played all 40 minutes.  Chilcott had 20 points and Wischer had 10 points and 10 rebounds.  In the loss, Brittany Smart, who played for NAIA turned DII school Cedarville, had 26 points and 14 rebounds.

Shay Selby and Binnenland could not extend their season after a 68-52 Game 4 loss to the Loon Lions.  Shay had 19 points and 6 rebounds in 38 minutes.  In the win, Molly McDowell had 10 points.  After more than a full season's absence, Shay returned to professional play for a team that desperately needed the short term help.  She provided an immediate spark for them, although they were not able to replicate their team success from the previous season.  Still, Shay did help win the Dutch Cup and has re-established her professional credentials for her career.

On Wednesday, Nick Horvath started another season in New Zealand with the Manawatu Jets.  Unlike other recent years, Nick did play before the start of his local league as he fit some time in the Australian league into a school break to not interrupt his primary job as a teacher.  Nick's teammates include ex-Michigan player Dion Harris and returnees Brandon Jenkins, who went to Louisville, and Jeremiah Trueman who went to DII school Alaska-Anchorage.  In their first game, they lost 100-74 to the Southland Sharks.  Nick had 9 points and 12 rebounds in 28 minutes.  Harris and Jenkins had 14 points each.  In the win, ex-Utah State player Tai Wesley had 18 points and 7 rebounds.

Lindsey Harding and Edirne beat Osmaniye 74-63.  Lindsey had 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists in 36 minutes.  Marissa Coleman had 20 points.  In the loss, ex-VCU player D'Andra Moss had 14 points and rookie Stefanie Dolson had 12 points and 9 rebounds.

Jasmine Thomas and Orman flipped their lineup around again, but lost 86-71 to Botas.  Jasmine had 15 points in 33 minutes.  Kara Braxton had 20 points and 13 rebounds.  In the win, ex-Arkansas player Lauren Ervin had 19 points and 16 rebounds and ex-LSU player Quianna Chaney had 16 points and 6 assists.

Shay Selby and Binnenland started the playoffs in the Netherland with Game 1 of the semifinals against the Loon Lions, losing 65-43.  Shay had 12 points in 30 minutes to lead her team.

Mistie Bass missed a chance to play against her former team Lyon, as Lattes Montpellier rolled to an 88-49 win.  Naomi Halman had 16 points and 8 rebound and Jenna O'Hea had 13 points.

On Thursday, Marty Pocius and Galatasaray had a tough EuroLeague trip to Israel to face defending champions Maccabi Tel Aviv and lost 81-72.  Marty had 9 points in 28 minutes.  Justin Carter had 12 points and 7 rebounds.  In the win, ex-Virginia player Devin Smith had 22 points and 8 rebounds, ex-Illinois player Brian Randle had 19 points and 6 rebounds, ex-Florida player Alex Tyus had 17 points and 8 rebounds, and ex-Akron player Nate Linhart had 10 points.

DeMarcus Nelson and Panathinaikos dropped a key home game to visiting German side Alba Berlin 68-66.  DeMarcus had 3 points in 20 minutes.  Antonis Fotsis and A.J. Slaughter had 12 points each and Esteban Batista had 11 points.  In the win, ex-Belmont player Alex Renfroe had 16 points and 9 assists, ex-Villanova player Reggie Redding had 14 points, and ex-Xavier player Jamel McLean had 11 points and 11 rebounds.
