Elizabeth Williams and Istanbul University returned from their break with a 65-52 win at Botas.  Elizabeth had 18 points and 15 rebounds in 37 minutes.  In the loss, ex-Liberty player Avery Warley had 20 points and 19 rebounds and rookie Ally Malott from Dayton had 12 points.

On Sunday, Chelsea Gray made her debut for her new team, Abdullah Gul University in Turkey.  She had a clause in her previous contract that allowed for a midseason move, and her impressive start to the season drew attention around Europe as she opted to move to Ankara to fill a vacancy caused by injury.  Her teammates include ex-UNC player LaToya Pringle, who is also known by the Turkish version of her married name Lara Sanders, ex-Minnesota player Janel McCarville, and ex-Richmond player Mirna Mazic.  In this game, they beat Besiktas 73-68 after a fourth quarter comeback.  Chelsea had 17 points in 26 minutes.  Pringle had 12 points and 11 rebounds.  In the loss, ex-Rutgers player Cappie Pondexter had 14 points and 8 assists.

On Friday, Shavlik Randolph and Liaoning had an important game against early season surprise Sichuan, winning 114-107.  Shavlik had 28 points and 15 rebounds in 28 minutes.  Lester Hudson had 36 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists.  In the loss, ex-Washington player Justin Dentmon had 35 points, ex-Rice player Mike Harris had 22 points and 8 rebounds, and ex-NBA player Hamed Haddadi had 19 points and 13 rebounds.

Jamal Boykin returned to Japan, a previous professional stop, this time with the Sendai 89ers.  Jamal has had an impressive season in both scoring and rebounding with top ten ranks in the league in both categories as he has averaged a double-double.  Jamal has proven to be extremely reliable as the team has had a strong start to the season, playing the second most minutes of any player in the league so far.  You can track his progress on the following link:
