Duke Basketball Overseas -- part 47 of a season long series

3/31/2014

On Saturday, Alana Beard and the Shinhan Bank S-Birds attempted to keep their season going in Game 4 of the finals against the Woori Bank Hansae.  They carried a lead into halftime, but surrendered it in the second half to fall 67-66.  Alana had 10 points in 19 minutes while ex-Georgia Tech player Sasha Goodlett had 12 points and 12 rebounds in the win.  Alana had a solid season in South Korea, deferring to her fellow foreign player for most of the regular season, but playing a more and more important role as the playoffs came.  Monique Currie also had a great season in the league, as she was the primary foreign player on her team and carried them into the playoffs.
