Duke Basketball Overseas -- part 27 of a season long series

On Saturday, David McClure and Siauliai returned to Baltic League play with a 91-82 win over Barsy from Kazakhstan.  David had 9 points and 7 rebounds in 28 minutes.  Chris Cooper had 16 points, Vytautas Sulskis had 15 points and 6 rebounds, and Derek Needham had 12 points.  In the loss, ex-South Carolina player Zam Fredrick had 28 points.

DeMarcus Nelson and Red Star Belgrade returned to Adriatic League and got to stay in the country with a trip to Radnicki, coming back late to win 78-73.  DeMarcus had 14 points in 30 minutes and Charles Jenkins had 12 points.

Nolan Smith was healthy enough for extended action in Cedevita Zagreb's Adriatic League against another team from Croatia, Zadar, winning 83-59.  Nolan had 6 points and 6 assists in 24 minutes.  Tomislav Zubcic had 10 points.  In the loss, rookie Andrew Lawrence from the College of Charleston had 10 points.

Daniel Ewing is still serving his suspension as Paris-Levallois lost a wild game 88-86 at Orleans as both teams made a number of big runs before things got close at the end.  In the win, ex-Notre Dame Kyle McAlarney had 22 points, ex-Colorado State player Brian Greene had 16 points, and ex-Ohio State player Terence Dials had 14 points.

While it was still Friday night in the United States, Jess Foley and the Adelaide Lightning took control in the fourth quarter to beat the Canberra Capitals 73-62.  Jess had 3 points in 12 minutes before leaving the game with an injury.  Laura Hodges had 23 points and Chay Shegog had 13 points and 7 rebounds.  In the loss, ex-WNBA duo Jessica Bibby and Abby Bishop had 17 points each and ex-Wichita State player Alex Bunton had 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Monique Currie had another great performance to lead the KB Stars to a 64-56 win over KDB Life Winnus.  Monique finished with 28 points and 7 rebounds in 30 minutes.

On Sunday, Shelden Williams and Tianjin continued a tough stretch with a 116-100 loss to Dongguan.  Shelden had 21 points and 14 rebounds and Sebastian Telfair had 26 points.  In the win, ex-Syracuse player Donte Greene had 21 points and 10 rebounds and ex-Cal State Fullerton player Bobby Brown had 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 12 assists.

Neither Lance Thomas nor Shavlik Randolph played as Foshan was beaten again, falling 126-91 to Zhejiang.  Gerald Fitch had 18 points and 9 rebounds.  In the win, ex-Arkansas State player Dewarick Spencer had 31 points and ex-DII player Ivan Johnson had 26 points and 11 rebounds.

Marty Pocius is still injured as Zalgiris Kaunas went back to domestic league play and beat Nevezis 84-65.  Justin Dentmon had 11 points.  In the loss, ex-JC player Arvydas Siksnius had 12 points.

Chante Black returned for Umbertide as they had a surprisingly easy win against Lucca, dominating 73-45.  Chante had 9 points and 16 rebounds in 31 minutes.  Ashleigh Fontenette had 22 points and 7 rebounds.  In the loss, ex-Kansas State player Megan Mahoney had 16 points and 6 rebounds.

On Monday, Alana Beard and the Shinhan Bank S-Birds saw their run end with a 58-56 loss to KEB-Hanabank.  Alana had 8 points in 15 minutes and Shekinna Stricklen had 17 points and 8 rebounds.  In the win, ex-Kansas player Nakia Sanford had 16 points and 13 rebounds.

Karima Christmas and Maccabi Ramat Hen had a tough test against powerhouse Elizur Ramla and had a poor start before fighting their way back to only lose 76-66.  Karima led her team again, registering 23 points and 11 rebounds as she played all but 20 seconds of the game.  Ashley Shields had 13 points.  In the win, ex-Hofstra player Vanessa Gidden had 19 points and 6 rebounds, ex-LSU Allison Hightower had 17 points and 6 rebounds, ex-Miami player Tamara James had 16 points and 7 rebounds, and ex-Boston University player Michal Epstein had 16 points.
