Duke Basketball Overseas -- part 15 of a season long series

On Saturday, Kathleen Scheer and the Sydney University Flames overturned a big halftime deficit for an 83-71 win.  Kathleen had 5 points in 15 minutes.  In the loss, rookie Chelsea Poppens from Iowa State had 23 points and 16 rebounds and ex-Washington player Nicole Romeo had 18 points.

Krystal Thomas and Perfumerias Avenida returned to domestic league action against Conquero with a mission and destroyed them 91-42.  Krystal had 6 points and 12 rebounds in 18 minutes.  Shay Murphy had 28 points and 9 rebounds, Angelica Robinson had 14 points, and Marta Fernandez had 13 points.  Ex-UConn player Charde Houston, Krystal's Phoenix Mercury teammate, had 11 points in the loss.

Mistie Bass and Lyon looked to continue their winning streak against Hainaut and had a strong start, before letting their opponents fight their way back and take the game 81-79 on a buzzer beating three pointer.  Mistie had 16 points and 8 rebounds in 35 minutes.  In the loss, ex-WNBA player Pauline Akonga Nsimbo had 12 points and ex-Miami of Ohio player Amanda Jackson had 11 points.

David McClure and Neptunas returned to VTB United League play with a trip to Latvia to face VEF Riga as they lost 74-59.  David had a quiet 5 minutes as Valdas Vasylius led the team with 17 points and 9 rebounds.  In the win, ex-Illinois player Dee Brown had 16 points and rookie Derrick Nix from Michigan State had 10 points and 7 rebounds.

Nolan Smith and Cedevita Zagreb went to Slovenia to play Union Olimpija and had to come back to force the game into overtime before prevailing 71-69.  Nolan had 13 points in 38 minutes and Tomislav Zubcic added 10 points and 9 rebounds.  In the loss, ex-USC player Alex Stepheson had 11 points and 7 rebounds.

In France, Daniel Ewing and Paris-Levallois pulled away in the final quarter to beat Dijon 72-63 as they continue to play better in the domestic league.  Daniel had 13 points in 29 minutes.  Jawad Williams had 17 points and Elton Brown had 12 points and 6 rebounds.  In the loss, ex-Fairleigh Dickinson player Andre Harris had 13 points, ex-Alabama player Mykal Riley had 12 points, and ex-Portland player T.J. Campbell had 11 points and 8 assists.

Karima Christmas and Maccabi Ramat Hen had a solid start against powerhouse Elizur Ramla, but could not keep up as they fell 69-54.  Karima had 16 points and 12 rebounds in 37 minutes to lead the team.  Ashley Shields had 14 points.  In the win, ex-Hofstra player Vanessa Gidden had 20 points, ex-LSU player Allison Hightower had 18 points, and ex-Miami player Tamara James had 13 points and 7 rebounds.
