On Sunday, DeMarcus Nelson and Panathinaikos tried to keep their season alive in Game 3 of the finals against Olympiakos, but could not do so as they lost 93-74. DeMarcus had a quiet 6 minutes. Loukas Mavrokefalidis had 14 points and 6 rebounds, Antonis Fotsis had 11 points and 7 rebounds, and Esteban Batista had 10 points. In the win, ex-NBA player Vassilis Spanoulis had 23 points, Georgios Printezis, the 58th pick of the San Antonio Spurs in 2007 before 6 trades left his rights with the Atlanta Hawks, had 12 points and 6 rebounds, ex-Hawaii player Matt Lojeski had 11 points, and ex-Ohio State player Othello Hunter had 10 points and 7 rebounds. DeMarcus had a tough start to his first shot at the elite European level when an injury in the preseason sidelining him for most of the start of the season. He eventually found his rhythm, providing the defense that he was brought into play, and a lineup change in the playoffs allowed him to have some solid offensive contributions as well.
