Duke Basketball Overseas 5/7/18

On Monday, Krystal Thomas and Mersin had their season ended with a 64-56 loss to Hatay in Game 3 of the Turkish League Quarterfinals.  Krystal had 9 points and 12 rebounds in 39 minutes.  Bria Hartley had 15 points.  In the win, ex-Oklahoma player Courtney Paris had 15 points and 14 rebounds, ex-Cal player Hind Ben Abdelkader had 12 points, ex-UConn player Barbara Turner, who is also known by her Turkish name Bahar Ozturk, had 11 points and 6 rebounds, and ex-Utah player Leilani Mitchell had 11 points.  It was a good season for Krystal in her return to playing all year long as she now heads back to the WNBA.

Alana Beard missed Polkowice's 59-46 win over Bydgoszcz in Game 3 of the Polish League Finals as they won the championship.  Artemis Spanou had 15 points, Temi Fagbenle had 14 points and 10 rebounds, and Alysha Clark had 10 points and 8 rebounds.  In the loss, ex-Kentucky player Jennifer O'Neill had 18 points.  It was a weird stint for Alana, who joined the team late in the season to help their title aspirations and to get in shape for the upcoming WNBA season as she was injured after only one game and did not play for the rest of the campaign.

On Tuesday, Haley Peters and Lyon beat Landes 75-71 in overtime in Game 3 to advance to the French League Semifinals.  Haley had 12 points in 41 minutes.  In the loss, ex-Pepperdine player Miranda Ayim had 17 points.

Kendall Cooper and Nice lost a critical game to Roche 86-62.  Kendall had 8 points in 29 minutes.  In the win, ex-WNBA player Bernadette Ngoyisa had 27 points, 15 rebounds, and 7 assist and ex-Kansas player Danielle McCray had 14 points.

On Wednesday, Kathleen Scheer was not in the lineup as the Kingborough-Huon Kings beat the Southern Wolves 55-44.

Angela Salvadores dressed, but did not play as Sopron won Game 3 of the Hungarian League Finals 69-66 over Szekszard to win the title.  Yvonne Turner had 18 points and Jelena Milovanovic had 13 points.  It was a change of scenery for Angela joining the Hungarian powerhouses and it paid off as she got more chances to show what she could do on a bigger European stage.

On Sunday in Australia while it was still Saturday night in the United States, Kathleen Scheer and the Hobart Chargers beat the Geelong Supercats 63-57.  Kathleen had 19 points and 15 rebounds in 35 minutes.  Brittany Smart had 23 points and 7 rebounds.  In the loss, ex-Murray State player Alex Duck had 14 points and 9 rebounds and ex-NAIA player Daniela Wallen had 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Ryan Kelly and Real Betis lost to Saski Baskonia 106-62.  Ryan had 10 points in 25 minutes.  In the win, ex-Northeastern player Matt Janning had 21 points and 7 rebounds, ex-NBA player Tornike Shengalia had 19 points, ex-NBA player Marcelo Huertas had 13 points, and Janis Timma, the last pick of the 2013 Draft by the Memphis Grizzlies before his rights were traded to the Orlando Magic, had 12 points.
