Duke Basketball Overseas - 3/7/2015

On Monday, Sheana Mosch and Elitzur Holon took care of another opponent from the lower section of the standings as they beat Elitzur Netanya 88-66.  Sheana led all scorers with 22 points and added 6 assists in 24 minutes.  Asia Taylor had 16 points and 12 rebounds, Toccara Ross had 14 points and 13 rebounds, and Thea Lemberger had 10 points.  In the loss, rookie Haiden Palmer from Gonzaga had 15 points and 11 rebounds and former Arkansas Little-Rock player Chastity Reed had 13 points.

Chelsea Gray and Hapoel Rishon Lezion took on Chelsea Hopkins and Bnot Herzliya, losing 59-54.  Chelsea Gray had 10 points in 35 minutes before fouling out while Chelsea Hopkins had 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists after playing all but 14 seconds of the game.  Karisma Penn had 21 points and 12 rebounds.  In the win, ex-Rutgers player Essence Carson had 22 points and 8 rebounds and ex-Villanova player Liad Suez had 10 points and 6 rebounds.

Chloe Wells and Barretos beat Brasilia 64-58.  Chloe led her team with 17 points and 6 steals in 33 minutes.  In the loss, ex-DII player Ariani Silva had 11 points.

On Wednesday, Karima Christmas and the S-Birds prevailed 72-62 in overtime against Monique Currie and the Blue Minx.  Karima had 28 points and 14 rebounds in 35 minutes to grab the game MVP and Monique had 10 points and 6 rebounds in 25 minutes.  Kelley Cain had 12 points and 6 rebounds.

On Thursday, Shay Selby and Binnenland eased to a 100-48 win over Amazone.  Shay led her team with 26 points and 9 assists and added 7 rebounds in 32 minutes.

DeMarcus Nelson returned from his injury as Panathinaikos hosted Spain's FC Barcelona in EuroLeague play, falling short 81-77.  DeMarcus had 7 points in 16 minutes.  Esteban Batista had 16 points and 9 rebounds and James Gist had 14 points.  In the win, ex-Xavier player Justin Doellman had 21 points, ex-NBA player Juan Carlos Navarro had 17 points, and Tibor Pleiss, who was originally drafted 31st in 2010 by the New Jersey Nets before three trades, including one at the last trade deadline which left his rights with the Utah Jazz, had 15 points.

On Friday, Monique Currie and the Blue Minx lost 65-47 to the Stars as they approach the end of their season.  Monique had 11 points and 10 rebounds in 27 minutes.  In the win, ex-Tennessee player Vicki Baugh had 13 points and 11 rebounds.
