On Friday, Daniel Ewing and LeMans Sarthe faced new nemesis Nanterre again, this time part of the League Cup quarterfinals. France has two cup competitions and this one follows the format most commonly used in Europe, with the top eight teams after the first half of the season heading to one location, in this case Disneyland Paris, and playing a knockout competition to determine the winner. The team had a big halftime lead, but nearly surrendered all of it before forcing overtime. Since they had not played each other enough in recent weeks, they went all the way to a third overtime period before LeMans took revenge for the last game and won 98-96.
