Duke Basketball Overseas 10/7/18

On Saturday, Ryan Kelly started his season as Shibuya lost to Tokyo 73-71.  Ryan moves to Japan after starting his overseas career in Spain last year and his teammates include ex-Gonzaga player Robert Sacre and ex-Cal player Markhuri Sanders-Frison.  In this game, Ryan had 28 points and 8 rebounds in 32 minutes.  Sacre had 18 points and 11 rebounds.  In the win, ex-New Mexico player Alex Kirk had 27 points and 6 rebounds.

DeMarcus Nelson was not in the lineup for Lyon-Villeurbanne due to injury as they returned to domestic league play and beat Fos-sur-mer 88-64.  In the loss, ex-Oklahoma State player Marcus Dove had 14 points and ex-Ohio State player Ron Lewis had 11 points.

Kyle Singler played his first game for Obradoiro as they lost to Canarias 78-52.  Kyle had 4 points in 14 minutes.  Ben Simons had 12 points.  In the win, ex-DII player Thad McFadden had 25 points, ex-Colorado State player Colton Iverson, the 53rd pick of the Indiana Pacers in the 2013 Draft before his rights were traded to the Boston Celtics, had 12 points and 9 rebounds, and ex-NBA player Nico Brussino had 10 points.

Kendall Cooper and Calais started their season in the French Cup, coming back to beat Angers 69-66 to advance to the next round.  This Kendall's second season in France as she drops down to the second division.  In this game, Kendall had 8 points in 29 minutes.  In the loss, ex-Temple player Shenita Landry had 10 points and 6 rebounds.

Josh Hairston and Ravenna started their season with a 80-79 win over Piacenza.  Josh stays in the Italian second division, but switches clubs as his teammates include ex-Georgia Tech player Adam Smith and former Florida high schooler Rafael Baldassi.  In this game, Josh had 10 points in 27 minutes.  Smith had 31 points.  In the loss, ex-Wichita State player Toure Murry had 21 points and 6 rebounds and ex-Colorado State player Andy Ogide had 11 points and 6 rebounds.

Erin Mathias played her first professional game as Empoli lost to Lucca 75-67.  Erin starts her career in Italy as her team just made it to the top division and her teammates include rookie Aliyah Huland El from Virginia.  In this game, Erin had 14 points and 9 rebounds in 33 minutes.  Huland El had 15 points.  In the win, ex-VCU player Krystal Vaughn had 25 points and 12 rebounds and ex-Tennessee player Bashaara Graves had 10 points and 9 rebounds.

Jasmine Thomas and Polkowice started their season with a 90-50 win over Widzew Lodz.  Jasmine joins the Polish champions as they try to make an impact on the European stage and her teammates include ex-UConn player Tiffany Hayes, ex-Texas A&M player Kelsey Bone, ex-USC player Temi Fagbenle, ex-DII player Johannah Leedham, and ex-Davidson player Sofija Aleksandravicius.  In this game, Jasmine had 7 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists in 28 minutes.  Fagbenle had 28 points and 13 rebounds and Leedham had 18 points and 7 rebounds.
