Duke Basketball Overseas - 10/19/2014

10/19/2014

On Wednesday, Haley Peters played her first professional national league level game.  She starts her overseas career in Spain, with Universitario Ferrol, a team that played in the second division last year, but was promoted to the top division this year.  Her teammates include fellow rookie DeNesha Stallworth from Kentucky, ex-St. Joseph's player Mireia Vila, and ex-Kent State player Itziar Llobet.  The team started at home against Sedis and kept grinding away to win 60-49 as every win means the team has a better shot at keeping their status in the top division in seasons to come.  Haley led all scorers with 24 points and added 9 rebounds in 35 minutes.  Stallworth had 11 points and 10 rebounds.  In the loss, Hind Ben Abdelkader, who like Stallworth left Cal early, had 12 points.
