Matt Guerreri to assistant coach for defense

Post by Devil in the Blue Dress » January 27th, 2015, 1:01 pm

Here's the first announcement of changes within the staff. Matt has been a graduate assistant who's been promoted to assistant coach. He's not only done quite well in coaching the safeties, he's also an outstanding recruiter. ;;)

Congrats!
In Guerrieri’s three seasons on the Duke staff, the Blue Devils have compiled 25 wins, captured the 2013 ACC Coastal Division championship and made three straight bowl game appearances.
That's a pretty remarkable experience for any young coach to have as your foundation to a career. :duke:
Duke born, Duke bred, cooking on a grill so I'm tailgate fed.

It is refreshing to see Matt Guerrieri rewarded for his hard work as a GA. It appears there is a youth movement on Coach Cut's staff. IMO, recruiting success was a key factor in his promotion.

Yes, just as it was for Re'quan Boyette. ;;)
