Golden Sour Ale Barrel Aged - Fine Creek - 5.5 %

Golden Yellow with ample luscious head. Gorgeous sour nose with oak barrel character.

Medium body with delicious apple cider vinegar sour rounded out with a light chardonnay flavor and lovely, prominent oak barrel-aging on the finish.

Definite Category 3 sour. World class stuff here.

Never Recover 3 - The Veil - 5.3 % - Sour-Fruited Gose with triple boysenberry and triple peach slice puree

Thicc smoothie creamy purple pour. Fantastic berry sour aroma.

Holy fruit puree mouthfeel batman. Fruit coats your palate and the glass.

The taste starts quite tart fun boysenberry flavor. The peaches blend nicely with the berry in this smoothie. It finishes smooth. Gorgeous balance of flavors. One of the best gose's I've tasted.

Low Cat 3 but very close to mid 3. Quite amazing, but quintessential Veil stuff.

Learned there is a Chimay Gold, which I have never seen or had. There were none for sale, I have a new beer to find sometime in the future.

Juicy #22-Lickinghole Creek Craft Brewery

Local, but only RVA local. (yea, I had to learn where Goochland, VA is located)

Style-DNEIPA or NEDIPA (from their juicy IPA series featuring a different hop variety or combination with each release)
Vessel-pint can (will be recycled next week to minimize the 10 billion # attached to the worldwide aluminum can deficit)
Stemware-boring pint glass
Appearance-yellowish orange with a 2 fingered, creamy head
Scents-OJ and grapefruit
Mouthfeel-smooth and juicy; no pulp
Tastes-an explosion of oranges, orange zest, tangerine and a splash of pineapple/grapefruit juice and some lemon candy
Adjuncts-OJ, orange zest and vanilla (if wheat and oats were listed, I'd believe those actors, too)
Featured hop-Lotus (ok, who first started talking about this variety a couple months ago?)
IBU-Untapped claims "No IBU" () but I'd guess about 40
ABV-7.5% (kinda on the edge of IPA/IIPA territory)
Overall impression-I paired with a giant, homemade soft shell taco, not knowing what to expect and was very pleasantly surprised
Ymm, Beer rating-fighting for recognition in a large stadium, I'm sliding this into the lower tier of cat 3 as I found this a very tasty beverage

I was at Costco today and they have an entire pallet of this for $13.50 a four-pack. I picked one up and put it in my cart but then remembered I was probably about to drop $50 on Trappist Beers on the way home so I put it back... May end up sneaking back over to Costco and picking up some.

Another tale of two pours.
Love Ninja got the first half, I got the chunky half.

Gorgeous raspberry violet in the glass.

Fruit content makes it look like a smoothie or all head.

Loaded peach syrup nose.

As RJ said above, thick. I’ll say it again- thick.
Really smoothie consistency.

Tart, edge of Sour Patch territory tart.

The tartness is similar to when you eat a just underripe blackberry.

Mid palate is where the peach shines before returning to a dry tart finish.

Another Veil beer that knocks it out of the park.

Another jekyll and hyde pour.

I’m not a big apricot fan (a known DFH Aprihop insulter).

Heavy apricot nose.

Unusual is how I would describe this beer.

Fruity and somehow minty.

I’ll enjoy this one, probably would not be something I’d seek out again.

Straight Talk Vol. III Release 10/21
The newest installment of this single beer & barrel experience is a Grape Brandy Barrel Aged Wheatwine. This beer took an extra long boil (4.5 hours!!) to allow for a deep caramelized malt flavor to develop. Toffee and black cherry aromas precede a decadent, sweet sherry-like flavor with a warm, caramel finish.
