crazietalk outing to the DBAP
All this talk of MLB stadiums has me wondering if anyone wants to get together for an outing to a Durham Bulls game. Please vote. You do have the ability to change your vote in case you change your mind.

I voted yes, but I want to know WHEN we'll be doing this outing.

I'd love to, but I'd never be able to get there.
Any NoVA CTNers could meet for a Prince William Cannons game. They're pretty good.

I wanted to get a feel for whether or not people wanted to do it before I looked at dates.CathyCA wrote:I voted yes, but I want to know WHEN we'll be doing this outing.

I'm not a big baseball fan, but I'm a fan of you people. I'd make a trip to Durham for it, my dad might even join us.

Re: crazietalk outing to the DBAP
I figured Saturdays are best day of the week for this little outing. The Bulls are home June 20th, Friday, July 3rd (Saturday is a Team USA game), I can't make the last Saturday in July due to a previous commitment. Then in August they are home the 1st, 8th, and 15th. I suspect Ozzie will to go on the 15th.

Any of these dates good for ya'll?

Wait! August 15 also works because I'll be up there for the weekend of the great kid switch.

Re: crazietalk outing to the DBAP
August 15 looks like it would work for me (Yankees!). June 20 and August 1 are less than optimal due to other travel plans the day before or after those dates, but might be doable. The other dates are good for me.CathyCA wrote:June 20, August 1 and August 8 work for me.TillyGalore wrote:I figured Saturdays are best day of the week for this little outing. Select your date (besides k68, that is  ) and we will try to have as many devildeacs there as we can.

CathyCA, if we did the 15th, would both kids be able to come, or just one?CathyCA wrote:June 20, August 1 and August 8 work for me.TillyGalore wrote:I figured Saturdays are best day of the week for this little outing. In addition to seeing all the CT folks, the additional benefit would be that they apparently have a local microbrewer stocking the kegs at their beer pulls so some of us would get to sample local adult beverages.

On the 15th, you would have the pleasure of Sam's company. He flies back to CA on the 16th.TillyGalore wrote:CathyCA, if we did the 15th, would both kids be able to come, or just one?CathyCA wrote:June 20, August 1 and August 8 work for me.TillyGalore wrote:I figured Saturdays are best day of the week for this little outing. Is this the August 15th date? If so, we better get our tickets on order NOW!devildeac wrote:In addition to seeing all the CT folks, the additional benefit would be that they apparently have a local microbrewer stocking the kegs at their beer pulls so some of us would get to sample local adult beverages.

JStuart actually PM'ed me a couple weeks back and told me that and invited me to a game with him a a cousin of his that I met a couple years ago. That's how I knew. I'm guessing it's for the whole season.OZZIE4DUKE wrote:Is this the August 15th date? So it is not the annual weekend beerfest that you've been to in the past?devildeac wrote:JStuart actually PM'ed me a couple weeks back and told me that and invited me to a game with him a a cousin of his that I met a couple years ago. August 8th is perfect for me. I'll have to look at the other dates if this doesn't become the chosen time. The Aug 29th game also looks good!

They usually have that in the fall at the old park, IIRC. I have only been to one there and one at the old OMNI hotel in downtown Derm many years ago. Too expensive now at about $40 for a 4 hour session.
