The poll list is impressive, and I voted for Rose, yet after a lot of thought... the biggest asshole I thought of wasn't even an athelete, owner, coach, manager or trainer. Turns out, I keep thinking about the dufus that interfered with the very catchable foul ball one night, down the left field line, at Wrigley Field. The Cubs had a good shot that year...gone in one pop foul.

I'm not a Cub fan either.

That ball was clearly going to stay in the park. Tiacho, Tiacho? Texespeto? Tarasco? What was his name? He was totally camped under it.

I have no idea about the story or the kid since I don't pay attention to slowball. I mean baseball. But you're right, if he's only a 12 year kid then there is no way he can be the biggest. He would be the smallest.

I would hope, if the ump had made the right call, that Maier would never have been ID'd, because what was left of him would have been discovered in an elevator shaft in Manhattan, or on the sidewalk in front of a very tall building after he "jumped."

You can blame the ump for making the wrong call, and you can throw the kid down an elevator shaft, but none of that will ever change the facts that the Orioles had an epic fail against the Yankees in that series.
