It's still the middle of the friggin night! But the thunder boomers have been rolling through for 30 minutes, Greg Fishel has called twice (at 12:50 and again at 2:40 a.m.) with their automated severe thunderstorm warnings that we signed up for. So here I sit, reading EJ's words of wisdom (?????), and saying good morning. No coffee, I'll go back to bed shortly.

HEAT ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Post by captmojo » August 5th, 2010, 5:33 am

:violin: I've had coffee. Wish I could stay in bed.
The heat index in Fayetteville yesterday had to be about 187.
Today will not be much better anywhere within the usual radius of where I may be traveling to today. #:-s
It's 76 degrees in my backyard right now and everything is soaked with dew. Damn, that's humid. I just love the feeling of a waterfall pouring down the crack of my...TMI. 8-|
HEY, COLD FRONT...GET DOWN HERE IMMEDIATELY, if not sooner. B-) B-) :violin:

Sort of. Lots of thunder and lightning and rain rolled through the Triangle during the wee hours so sleep was a bit abbreviated. Where the heck is everyone?

Good Morning. Had to make a run to the store for some half and half. That usually starts the day off on the wrong foot but I'm in a surprisingly good mood.
More coffee.

Woke up to what happens when I take a day off. The house is a wreck. Must get rolling. Still tired, though, from all the fireworks last night. %-( The dog is still shaking!

Now I'll say Good morning. ~O) Finally fell asleep about 4:30, and it was still rumbling in the distant east. Woke up just before 9. I love being self employed! Just wish I could write myself a regular pay check...

Well, it's morning. It's Friday. Can't be too bad.

I have the rare occasion today, of knowing exactly where I have to go before I begin my workday. After loading the BUTT yesterday, my air condtioner was in a state of failure. This is completely unacceptable and will NOT be tolerated. :skull:

Today's adventures will find me at Montgomery Ford in Troy NC, then, onward to Wilmington Honda/Acura. There is no good path across to get from here to there.

Cheerios time. A good day to all! Safe travels to all those in transit. :auto-biker: :auto-car: :auto-driving: :animals-dogrun: :auto-swerve: :auto-layrubber: :auto-layrubber: :animals-chickencatch:

Good morning.

The Reds are playing well, for the first time in ages. Is it related to your move there, Ymo?

Correlation doesn't equal causation, but the last time I moved was to Boston in 2007. Just to make sure everyone knows, the Red Sox won the World Series that year and the Celtics were on their way to an NBA title(in '08). Just sayin'.

Good morning, a bit late. ~O) Got up early and took the van to WalMart for an oil change and tire rotation/balance (it's free - I got the tires there). As part of their safety check, the battery failed the CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) test. Last winter, we had to jump start the thing once, but the battery passed the test at both Advanced Auto and WalMart, so I didn't replace it. Even though we've had no problems since, I proactively put in a new battery before we had to find a jump again, which would have occurred at the least convenient time possible, probably during a violent thunderstorm. Also got the van inspected so now I can get the registration/license plate sticker renewed.

Good morning! I woke up ridiculously early (5:15!), so I decided to be productive. I'm on my 3rd load of laundry and my first cup of coffee for the morning. Hopefully I won't hit the wall until after the photography class I'm taking this morning.
