No, but it left a few crumbs of drywall on the floor.

I went to the box and turned off the breakers to the lights downstairs.

I bet it was a Hunter Ceiling Fan. ;)
No, it was a Harbor, I think. I got it at Lowe's.

But the problem isn't the ceiling fan, it's the vaulted ceiling and the block that secures the fan to the ceiling. It just came "un-nailed" from the ceiling.

Have him screw it in this time. The threads on a screw will help it grip better.

The fan is screwed in, and it is holding on to the block. The block that is attached to the ceiling came "un-nailed" and the only thing holding the fan up is the wire that goes through the block and into the ceiling.

I really should take a picture so that you guys can see it.

Oh, and the guy isn't calling me back, so I may spend the morning calling around until I can find another guy who can fix the thing. I think I could fix it myself if I had a ladder that was tall enough to reach to the top of the vaulted ceiling, but I don't.

OH! Maybe I could get the guy who's coming today to clean out my gutters bring his ladder inside and fix the fan. Do we have a light bulb smiley?

I meant screwing the mounting block to the ceiling structure. :tools-hammerdrill: :tools-hammerdrill: :violence-chainsaw:

Good morning...

Baby woke at 4:30 with a fever but is now napping.

Had a couple muffins and ~O) and now going to try and figure out what I promised an editor I'd write for her.

Good luck on the fan, CathyCA, sounds scary to me.

Oh. DUH on me. Of course!

Thank you for the suggestion. I'm going to tell fan man to do that if he ever calls me back.
