She looks beautiful, plays like butter, sounds amazing, and has a great tonal range. This one is definitely a keeper - there is no way that I will ever sell her and she'll have to be pried out of my cold dead hands!
Congrats on the guitar, colchar! Sounds like you found a winner. Hope you'll be able to enjoy it for many years.

Just saw my first BP propaganda commercial about what they're doing to clean up the mess. :obscene-birdiered:

Oh dear! The radio's exploded.

The flooring is all down on the front porch. One coat of sealer/finish was put down Friday. 24 hours has to pass before the second coat. Weather has prevented any further activities out there. Two large sheets of plastic encase the wrap-around to keep the rain off. It looks like a scene from ET.
Returning to my 'making a living' pursuits tomorrow and may have to rely on BIL to do the job while I'm missing from action. Not thrilled about that. He has less experience than I do, which isn't a lot. If it gets screwed up, I'd like to be the one that does it. I am, after all, the one doing the paying for it. Should he fuck it up, I'll have to remind him of it for a long time. I'll have to...it will be required. :twitch:

Please tell me that it's NOT made with Madagascar rosewood. Here's a link regarding the Gibson guitar case:
http://news.mongabay.com/2009/11818-gibson.html
And here's a link talking about the effects of illegal rosewood logging in Madagascar:
http://blogs.nationalgeographic.com/blo ... trife.html

IIRC, Fender uses rosewood as well, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's from Madagascar. Brazilian rosewood is a little more expensive.

No, it is Brazilian rosewood. Fender didn't get caught up in the same crap that Gibson did.

I buy BP. I figure I didn't boycott any American companies, such as Occidental (who were responsible for something far far worse than an oil spill), after they had disasters so why would I boycott BP?

I've always loved Gibson guitars (Les Pauls and SGs), particularly the way they sound, but the company has been mismanaged and their products aren't what they could/should be any more. I am beyond impressed with the quality of this Fender - sound, tones, workmanship, attention to detail, etc. I was never really a Fender guy but they have converted me and have definitely earned my future business.

I also continue to buy BP. Most of their gas stations are locally owned and boycotting them just hurts the local small business owner. And who would I go to instead? Exxon? Shouldn't I still be pissed off at them for the Valdez? Shitgo? Do I really want to send my money to Hugo Chavez? There's no good answer on which evil corporate overlord to buy petroleum products from.

You can support your local BP by buying products within the store...from what I understand they don't make much at all on the gas itself. So swing in for you coffee, get your gas elsewhere.

I'm still not sure what "elsewhere" has gas from a respectable petroleum company that I can respect and trust. I haven't found one yet.

The ones I get gas from are the local mom n pop shops. Here at the beach, they are the cheapest, and the friendliest. I don't know who they get their gas from, but it's not BP. There is one around the corner from me, and one on my way to work.

BP, Shell, Chevron and now Exxon and Mobil have the best gasolines for keeping your fuel system clean. I buy those when they are within a penny or two of the Hess and Murphy stations, at least some of the time.

I'm curious - have you asked where they get their gas from?

B has taken pity on me and is mowing the back yard. Usually I mow, but with my cold, he decided he should. The grass is high and wet, and I'm discovering he knows words I didn't know were in his vocabulary.

He had to take a break to see what Jeff Gordon did at Pocono. (should I warn myself for not posting this in the NASCAR thread?) ;)
