It took us all day to realize that this was our tenth anniversary dinner tonight.

Hurray for collards! That was actually the inspiration for tonight's dinner. Kelly said she wanted some greens, so I went for collards. MmmmmmmEarlJam wrote:BBQ beef on rice, with collards, sliced carrots and corn. And a pickle. And a small piece of cornbread.

My oysters, last night, were very much thinly tapered at their southern ends.

Quick Italian dinner tonight: box of rotini, jar of barilla sauce, package of italian turkey sausage, head of broccoli. Cooked and mixed. Garlicky texas toast on the side.
More importantly dessert: LOCOPOPS!

Tookie's chicken salad (from a convienence store-really), homemade pimiento cheese and crackers for appetizers. Crab cakes, corm on the cob and a mixed green salad a bit later.

Fruit salad in a cucumber bowl, shrimp-stuffed tilapia and rice.
For dessert, we're having lemon chess pie.
I'm chilling with a grocery store beer while I'm waiting on my dinner guests to arrive.

Salad, rice and some chicken poblano stuff that B picked up at Costco. Not my fave, and Merlin wouldn't even try it. But help is on the way; brownies are in the oven!

A lovely NY Strip for the grill...some fresh corn on the cob...a nice baked potato. Might crack open a bottle of Cabernet.
Just typing it made me hungry. It may be an early dinner.

We're having grilled scallops on a bed of broccoli slaw made with rice noodles, the way Paula Deen was making it yesterday, except I'm using rice noodles instead of the Ramen noodles she used so the sodium content doesn't make us candidates to visit DD on Monday. Brownies with ice cream for dessert.

Re: What's for dinner?
Just went to Town Market and bought a 12+ oz. ribeye for myself and a boneless chicken breast for Mrs. Ozzie, our standard Friday night Crash fare, which we didn't have last night. I'll either grill them tonight (if we don't get rained out) or tomorrow night if the rain comes.

Re: What's for dinner?
I'm having the same meal I had last night, shrimp stuffed tilapia with rice and fruit, except I'm not making the cucumber bowls again since it's just Mom and me. I'll just chop some of the cucumber to mix in with our fruit.
For dessert, lemon chess pie again.
I'm having guacamole and chips as an appetizer now.
I'll need to ride my bike a LOT in the morning.

If you really did not want to visit me on Monday, I'd omit the brownies and ice cream, too.lawgrad91 wrote:Yum. Windsor, you're making my mouth water.windsor wrote:A lovely NY Strip for the grill...some fresh corn on the cob...a nice baked potato. Might crack open a bottle of Cabernet.

But that's the healthiest part of the meal! Everyone knows chocolate is high in antioxidants. And ice cream - that's got milk in it. Milk has calcium, and that's good for your bones. We're supposed to have 1-2 servings a day of milk, right?devildeac wrote:If you really did not want to visit me on Monday, I'd omit the brownies and ice cream, too.lawgrad91 wrote:Yum.
