With a runner on third, and me in the outfield, I once jumped and robbed a player of a home run, on my way back down to the ground, before my feet even hit, I made a sidearmed throw to home plate and threw the tagging runner out on the fly!

That's when everyone KNEW they were dealing with a Bad Ass!

"What a BAD ASS," I heard the opposing team's coach say.

The next day, at school, I was walking the hallways and I heard a group of peers, by the locker, say, "Look! There goes Dan, the BAD ASS THROWER!"

To be honest, it was a little embarrassing.

Anyway, just thought I'd share.

P.S. Just kidding, of course!
I mostly played right field and third base in high school. Once when I was in right field, I had a batter hit it over my head. There was no wall on the field. I ran my butt off after it and picked it up. The runner that had started on 1st was halfway to 3rd and the base coach was waving him home. I threw an absolute laser beam to the first baseman, my cutoff man, and he caught it already moving forward, transferred the ball, and fired it home. Our catcher caught it with the runner still three strides away, he turned... AND GOT DESTROYED! He made the tag and got the out, but he got his leg broken in the collision. The runner separated his shoulder and fractured his radius. I played rugby for four years and football for six, and that was the nastiest collision I ever saw live (though not the nastiest injury). It was U.G.L.Y... but I made the play and we got the out. :D

I just got a very cool email...it's an invitation to submit my portfolio to a gallery in NYC. Galleries are getting flooded with portfolio submissions these days, so to actually get an invite from one is pretty rare. It doesn't mean that they will represent me in the long run, but they want to take a closer look..wooohoo!
AMSTERDAM WHITNEY GALLERY, a premier, museum-forum gallery, also known as “the most beautiful gallery in Chelsea,” - the unrivaled international art center of the world - would like to invite you to submit your portfolio for curatorial review with a long-term prospective of Gallery Representation.
