Thanks for the advice, devildeac! I'll put that on the agenda of things to do this afternoon - after a trip to Ted Drewe's.devildeac wrote:Listen to the CD and read the lyrics before you go and you'll understand some of the subtleties of the stories a bit better. Or at least it helped me as I can be a bit dense and deaf at times . Seriously. Great show. You should enjoy it immensely. Those seats don't sound too bad. We have season tix for the Broadway series at the Derm Performing Arts Center (aka DPAC) and ours are rear orchestra. We did upgrade to the 5th row ( ) for Phantom this year for $5-7 per ticket (got lucky) and also changed our date and night and paid a bunch more for Wicked. Still worth it. Put a review up if you have time. Please .ArkieDukie wrote:My official celebratory splurge has been decided: I just bought a ticket for tomorrow's performance of "Wicked" at the Fox Theatre. Tomorrow is the last day, so the seats aren't that great (at least, I don't think so-rear orchestra) but I'll be there!

Funny enough, mine's been pretty ok. I charge it every night, but it's been more than decent and it's almost 2 yrs old.ArkieDukie wrote:Surely to goodness it's not any worse than iPhone battery life. Don't know about anyone else, but my battery is often down to 20% when I get home from work.

Blue Ridge Corn Squeezin'z. That's all I'll say.
No I won't. Add a little sugar to the jug and a few broken Damson Plums... Take it easy though. This concoction will blow your socks, shoes and troubles off the mountaintops!

Not that I would know anything about this, but in Patrick and Henry Counties in VA, peaches are a very popular addition to the corn in liquid form.
The only distillers we ever end up prosecuting are the ones who have high levels of lead and other impurities in their product.
My great-grandfather was a farmer in Halifax County, VA, and his old bachelor brother had a reputation as a healer, with a "healing stone" in his basement. When Uncle Hudie passed away in the 1960's, and the family went in to clean out his little cabin, they found out that what he had in his basement was actually a working still.

Personally, I think liquid corn with peaches is manna from heaven. Oh, wait a minute, that's illegal. Never mind.
In case you haven't been to the basketball board in the last few minutes, we will need another large jersey with "Plumlee" on the back.

Liquid corn is one of very few things I miss about living in the mountains.
