Feilhaber in for Bradley as the 2nd half begins.
Already the US looks better. More aggressive. Ghana was good in the midfield aerial game early, but started to tire there.
Dempsey playing okay, but I can't figure out Altidore so far.
If US goes on, Cherundolo is out with yellow cards.

That was another dumass play to get that card.

USA! USA! Interestingly, the niece and nephew adopted from Ghana are rooting for the US.

Is the MIL is still talking trash?

I've just joined the Section 21.

NOTE: Bradley is still playing. Edu came in for Clark, NOT Bradley. Sorry for the earlier mistake.

It is all Lavabe's fault. He rolled a 6.

It was nice to see them advance, of course watching the US go further would have been nicer, but there are a few other teams that would happily traded places. Right France? Right Italy?

Should been 2-2 going into half...and I missed the German blitzkrieg in the second half(washing my car). But that game was much more exciting(the parts I saw mainly the whole first half) than what I witnessed yesterday.

Upon further review, I guess I'd classify our performance yesterday as lackluster or uninspired. We weren't bad except for the 2 bad defensive lapses but there wasn't much excitement in our attack. I thought the refereeing yesterday was good (yes, I really typed that). I saw very little about which I'd complain, especially after watching the replays. FIFA still needs replays or match reviews where they could reverse or add cards. All the Ghanian histrionics/theatrics didn't cost us the match but, my word, even the home country African judges would have have difficulty giving any of their dives more than a 5 or 6 if this were the summer Olympics. At least the referee added several minutes of extra time to make up for their 2 stretcher runs and prolonged turf time.

I thought the refs yesterday weren't great, but they were equally fair. They missed some calls on us as well as them (Ghana's last yellow card springs to mind, it shouldn't have been called). Instant replay would clarify some calls, but in the end they would have to add like 20 minutes of stoppage time due to video reviews alone. What I wish more than instant replay is that the refs should at least have to explain some of their calls. As it is, they get to walk off without answers. It's ok if they blew it, but it would be nice if they had to say why they thought they were right, or at least admit they screwed up.

I just had to try a roll from the Southern Hemisphere.

As for the reffing, I disagree completely with devildeac: The refs! They suck! They really, really suck!

That disallowed English goal, combined with the disallowed American goal should be ample evidence that reforms need to occur. The English goal was a game-changer. Video replay should be used not only in these cases, but also upon review of cards. I still think of the phantom yellow card that the American picked up for a handball that was clearly off his head, not his arms/hands.

FWIW, I hate Germany with a passion. May they rot in hell after yesterday's game. After seeing the substandard British goalkeep performance yesterday, I just wonder at what point the coach, Fabio Capella, would have switched goalkeeps. Maybe when it was 10-1?

Guess I am down to Spain and Brazil in my teams that I'll root for in this year's Cup.

Speaking of rolling, Brazil is really playing the beautiful game over Chile. It's 2-0 early in the 2nd half.

If only Kaka could score! :twitch:

The quarterfinal with Brazil and Netherlands is at half. The first 25 minutes were filled with Brazil's BEAUTIFUL offensive game. The Netherlands has been able to hold the storm, and is playing much better, but still trails 1-0, the result of a goal from Brazil's Robinho.

Kaka STILL hasn't scored. :twitch:

Don't know if I can watch the Argentina - Germany game. I can't stand Germany. This may be the one time I pull for Argentina. I'd like to see the Americas advance.

As a Brazil fan, I could never root for the Argentinians. I did like Buenos Aires however.

Midway in the 2nd half, and NETHERLANDS has scored two beautiful goals to take a 2 - 1 lead over Brazil.

Kaka blew YET ANOTHER shot.
