Order a pastrami for me and get something good to drink. Heck at the moment I would even settle for a Bud Light!

Here's hoping the additional pencil rail tile actually arrives by Tuesday so the tile guy can finish my backsplash and fireplace. I'm ready to put my kitchen back together and start thinking about a new floor.

Walking through the casino to get to the Deli, we walked through the adjacent buffet. Seafood (big crab legs, peel'n-shrimp, grilled swordfish, talapia, fried shrimp, etc.) and prime rib, all you (or I :D ) can eat, and I got distracted. I ate there, they brought deli back for them. I'll have the pastrami some other day... It was good! And I'm stuffed (imagine that =)) ).

CathyCA, is Sam coming east this year? Or did I miss something and he's already here?

No, he's not coming to see me this summer.

I spent 9 days with him in June.

Sam just returned yesterday afternoon from a mission trip to New Mexico. He and his youth group refurbished houses on the Navajo reservation. I haven't spoken with him yet, so I'm not sure which crew he worked with--roofing, painting or flooring. His youth group is just beginning to load pictures of their adventures in to Facebook.

He has college orientation in July during the middle of his summer vacation. He starts college in the third week of August.

We were having a hard time finding any chunk of meaningful time for him to visit this summer, so he decided that he would rather come to see me at Christmas/January, when he has a month off.

By all accounts (Christian's Facebook and my telephone conversations with him), the boys have had fun together and are enjoying being with each other for the summer. I'm glad that they have each other.

Oh, Cathy. I'm sure having the house to yourself is not what you planned when you bought it. I hope the time passes quickly until Christian is home. Glad they are getting a chance to spend time together.

It's okay. I don't mind the solitude. It's the first time I've lived alone in 23 years.

When we return from the beach, my mom is going to move in with me for a few weeks while her kitchen is being gutted and remodeled. The painters started today on her living room and hallway. Later this week, they'll work on the rooms upstairs. She's also getting her floors refinished in a few weeks.

Sam just called. He had a great time on the mission trip. He actually thanked me for sending him on it. :) Sam was talking to me as he was driving Christian to the SF Zoo this afternoon. They are going to see the lemurs!

Just left Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium. We got there late so our visiting was limited and didn't make it to see lemurs but I bought a stuffed ring tailed one. Also a stuffed meerkat.

Were you in serious beer withdrawal after spending a few days with the inlaws?

Flight delayed to GSO due to lightning. Sigh. At least I have a Coke and have visited the ladies' room.

Sob story is regarding visit with FIL. He has given up his desire to live. Not physically ill but in a major depressive episode and is taking MIL (who waits on him hand and foot) with him. So major trauma for family. They are staunch Baptists and do not drink.
