See my facebook status:
AT&T is making a "generous" offer to let you get out of your iPhone 3G contract 6 months early so you can get a discounted iPhone 4. How "generous" of them to allow you to start a new contract that doesn't have unlimited data and allows you to start using the new bandwidth-hogging apps like authoring/transmitting HD m...ovies, streaming Netflix, and those ads you'll now be paying to download. Positively "generous."
Woo I can now get an iPhone with iAds! Yay!

LMAO. Yeah that offer is bunk. I feel sorry for people that don't read the fine print, or can't understand the fine print once they read it.

I'm back. Moving sucks but it went reasonably well. My new internet connection was installed today so I am back on line. Now y'all have to put up with me again. You have my sympathies ;)

I hate moving. I vowed to never move again, that is, to move myself. I was doing pretty good until I found out the cost for the cross-country move from California. My kitchen, dining room, and library are still in California. <sigh>

I couldn't survive without my library. My books were the first thing moved and one of the first things unpacked.

You don't have to toot your horn. You can blink you lights. :D I thought auto parts stores still did that sort of thing. :-?

Welcome back Colchar.

Good for you, GL91. I replaced a tail/stop light the other night. They are a bit easier than the headlights - I let WalMart do the last headlight I needed for about $5 labor.

I hear ya, but the cost of a moving truck with flat bed to tow my car was well over $2,000, about three times as much as when I moved to California. Gas was my biggest expenditure on the trip to California, so I was estimating about $4,000 - $5,000 for the entire move if I packed everything myself. Shipping isn't an option due to the oversize dining room table and chairs and a moving/small freight company wasn't much cheaper so I was left with the option of storing things while I saved up my pennies for a small freight company to move everything after I made the drive.

I'm glad that I had a friend with enough space in his garage to store everything for me.

HAHAH YES! Nahh, I'll get it one day. Honestly, if I were a bit more focused I could get it over here sooner but I've been having fun spoiling Ms. Crosby. Goal will be to get it all back in 2011, or maybe I'll wait til after 2013, because you know the world will end in 2012. ;)

Moving is indeed expensive. Of course, you might some day return to CA, and then you'll be glad you didn't move all that stuff (twice).

Welcome back. I hope you enjoy your new home.

Thanks but, unfortunately, it isn't exactly a new home.

I decided to move from where I had been living for almost the last ten years (a city of just under 100,000 people, although it was part of a tri-city area with a population of just under 500,000) back to the GTA (Greater Toronto Area - see link below) which has a population of over 5 million because it will be easier to find a new job here. Although I grew up here, I haven't lived in the GTA for almost a decade and couldn't decide which part of the area I wanted to live in. As a result I accepted my parents' invitation to stay with them until I got settled into the area again and figured out where I wanted to be. So, for now, I am back at Mom and Dad's. I was hesitant to stay here even temporarily but doing so will give me the chance to spend some quality time with my Dad which will be nice because, as I've mentioned before, he is getting old and I am not 100% certain he'll still be with us in five years' time.

So it isn't a new home and I'll be going through the whole moving hassle again in a couple of months but, for now, I am settling in and reconnecting with old friends.

Enjoy being with your folks, even though it will seem very restrictive to your "normal" life style.

If I just disappear on Thursday or Friday nights and don't come home until Sunday night it shouldn't put too much of a cramp on my extra-curricular activities ;)

Unfortunately no on both counts :(
