What an exciting five seconds in overtime. I've always said, "if you can not slaughter them, make it close and break their hearts".

I didn't get to watch the game, but I'm especially thrilled with this championship. Our program has come full circle from the nastiness of a few years ago. Take that, Nifong!

Living well IS the best revenge fer sher! I wanted this one so bad I couldn't watch either of the last two games in real time. Discretion was the better part of valor at the moment.
Particularly, I enjoyed watching the big hug and dance that went on with John and Matt Danowski after the game. Coach Danowski came to us and brought his heart with him when his son and Duke needed his calm, smart, devoted coaching ability. I was afraid at first that he would only be here long enough to see his own son through the storm. But it's clear to see that there's a lot more to this man than we knew at the time. He literally scooped us all up and put us back together when the odds were so against us.
He takes the time and makes the effort to be open and friendly with people all over Durham. There's no slick "celebrity" in him. He has shown our players the importance of that. He'll invite kids aboard the team bus to say hi to players. He's open and genuine with everybody. He's just a real good man. I'm so, so happy his guys were able to give him this championship. Bless all their great big hearts.
Love, Ima

All well said Ima. I also like the fact that when he took over the program he made it a no nonsense approach and told them (paraphrasing) that conduct unbecoming to them as young adults would not be tolerated as it reflected badly on them, their families, their teammates, Duke and the sport of lacrosse. Looks like almost all of them subscribe to that plan. And the one that didn't this year got booted and lost the chance to play for a NC team.

The bookstore was a lot quieter than the day after the basketball team won the championship. Nevertheless, I have my lacrosse NCAA championship t-shirt, so does K68.
