Although, I have to admit, it was pretty stupid of Colchar to post that when both acting mods are of said profession.

Since the moderating style here is so hands off I never ever pay any attention to who is, or is not, a mod much less what their occupation might be.

You would prefer something less laissez-faire? So far from my few days of moderating it appears that most of what goes on is fine, although we are WAY off topic on this thread at the moment.

So what'd I miss going to watch very minor league baseball (and the artist formerly known as the San Diego Chicken) instead of the All-Star Challenge, or whatever it's called these days?

I still haven't seen the movie. At dinner tonight, the movie Gran Torino came up as the aunt of my friend's wife had a speaking role in the film. I haven't seen it either.

Less laissez-faire? Of course not. After all, I was one of the two original mods here and we helped CB&B determine/develop the moderation style used on this site. My point was that because the mods here are never in anyone's face, I never pay attention to them and have no idea what they do for a living. In fact, I often have no idea who is, or isn't a mod at any given time.

I know that. My point is that I pay no attention to the bottom of the page or any other indication that someone is a mod (ie. their name being in green). it just isn't something that I bother with as I have no need to.

I can agree with this. Unlike over yonder, where I DO pay attention, I don't here because I don't feel like I have to. Which proves to me that our mod system is working insanely well. I do like seeing the pretty green colors now and then.
And to keep this on topic, I have watched maybe 10 minutes of NASCAR this year. They all turned left, except for that one guy who turned right...everyone behind him wrecked.
