Not great, but not bad either. Well, C list didn't help at all.

Dude, you can't have a race movie marathon without the Burt Reynold's classic, Stroker Ace!colchar wrote:Smokey and the Bandit is a must, an absolute must!knights68 wrote:I was just thinking, as I am prone to do from time to time.
And I asked myself," 'K68, wouldn't it be cool if we had a little movie marathon sometime before the end of the NASCAR season? And wouldn't it be cool to pick out three classic movies to watch with those interested?"
So then I thought, other than "Talladega Nights", what two or three other movies would be THE movies to watch?
And the follow-up question is, would anyone be interested in a get-together for a movie marathon near the end of the racing season??
My early favorites for consideration:
1) Fast & The Furious (1)
2) American Graffiti
3) Cannonball Run (1)
Replacements:
A) Grand Prix (1966)
B) Thunderbolt
Honorable Mentions:
"3"
Gone in 60 seconds
Days of Thunder (despite Tom Cruise)
Herbie (the classic one)
Do ya think "Smokey & The Bandit" (1) qualify?

Re: NASCAR 2010
Can I say it now, Can I say it? lol
Finally.... My Very First Win!!! YESH!!
Dang it, if only JJ didn't muck up the race off pit road late in the race....
And if only I went with my initial gut to pick Kyle... if only if only!

Re: NASCAR 2010
So THIS was the last race to watch before Madagascar 2010. Glad that knights is no longer in the loser's bracket. WELL, Tilly, how long before we win one?
The race for the CTN championship got VERY tight. Ymo is 2nd, colchar lost some ground to most of us, and knights moved closer to us all.
Damn you, JJ!! Is it just me, or have a number of drivers pulled very late BONEHEADED moves that cost them wins? JJ, Burton, etc...
FWIW, I should have gone with Kvapil.

Thanks, my NASCAR-cherry has officially been popped now!Lavabe wrote:So THIS was the last race to watch before Madagascar 2010. Glad that knights is no longer in the loser's bracket.
Oh please! I am certain it will not be long at all.Lavabe wrote:Tilly, how long before we win one?
Nice color commentary! Knights68 & his Road Warriors are back on the road!Lavabe wrote:The race for the CTN championship got VERY tight. Ymo is 2nd, colchar lost some ground to most of us, and knights moved closer to us all.
Definitely an odd occurence. Maybe (in the world of conspiracy) it is NASCAR and their preplanned, predetermined races that is setting up the stage for Jr to get back on top! lol but then again... .... they'd have to get half the field to suppoedly flub up in order for that to happenLavabe wrote:Damn you, JJ!! Re: NASCAR 2010
I fully expected to blow my lead in the final week of the spring session but, luckily, I managed to hold on and win a session for a change!
But it is a whole new ballgame now as our spring records go out the window and we all start with a clean slate again!

WTF are you talking about with throwing out the spring records? EVERYTHING gets added in for the full season championship. I WISH we could throw out the spring records. ;)

And heck, you should throw in Tarantino's Death Proof, his segment from Grindhouse.Miles wrote:You're missing The French Connection.knights68 wrote:I was just thinking, as I am prone to do from time to time.

I was forgetting about the full season championship and was just thinking of the summer portion of the schedule.

I'm in first place! For the summer session that is. But then so is everyone else. I guess it's not much of an accomplishment. But hey, I'm in first place and if you aren't winning, you're losing!

ESPN was reporting that Vickers may be out for 3 months. I hope he gets well soon.
In the meantime, Casey Mears rides for him at the AllStar race. No word what Red Bull Racing will do if Vickers is out that long.
