Tough to go wrong with any Mel Brooks film, but put me down for "Young Frankenstein," please.

I'll second History of the World. I'll also add Young Frankenstein & My Cousin Vinny.

Edit: Wilson beat me to Young Frankenstein.

I just hurt myself laughing at that clip, even though I knew what was coming.

I'll second Vinny. The two utes always cracks me up.

Dumb and Dumber is always hilarious.

Step Brothers with Will Ferrell might be the funniest movie I have ever seen but it's rather crude and more geared toward the teen/college demographic.

I know a few people have mentioned Dumb & Dumber... but I have never found that movie funny. I distinctly remember NOT laughing and being stunned that I wasn't even really amused. i-)

Agreed on both counts. When he's at his best, I love Will Ferrell, but I find him to be rather inconsistent (for example, I thought "Kicking and Screaming" and "Blades of Glory" sucked butt). I frankly had pretty low expectations for "Stepbrothers," but I found it to be among his funniest films.

Almost any Monty Python movie should do the trick. Or, if you like John Cleese, you cold always grab some Fawlty Towers episodes.

I laughed until it hurt watching Supertroopers. I like their shenanigans.
Manos the Hands of Fate, and This Island Earth episodes of Mystery Science 3000 get my vote for a good chuckle.

I guess I'm too young, but I never appreciated Peter Sellers's humor. Just never got it. However, I did like Laurel and Hardy and Charlie Chaplin.

I did just think of another one though. Three Amigos! with Chevy Chase, Steve Martin, and Martin Short. I loved that movie. Something about the plethora of pinatas conversation just always has me in stitches. Oh, and:

Have you ever heard of foreplay?
No.
Good, because neither has El Guapo.

Oh, and while some of the movie is too serious to be call the movie fall on the floor laughing funny, Mrs. Doubtfire has a few parts that always make me crack up, like the run-by fruiting and the scene in the restaurant and his boobs catching fire.

Elf (during your season of the year, wilson) has become an instant classic (love that oxymoron).

I like Talladega Nights solely for the NASCAR references.

Happy Gilmore is one of the few Adam Sandler movies I can watch repeatedly. Bob Barker and Jaws are hilarious!!

Borat: you either love it or you hate it.

I actually liked DODGEBALL. Too bad I don't get the OCHO! The Chuck Norris cameo...

My FAVORITE funny Christmas movie has got to be the Ref. Dennis Leary is hysterical, and the play between Judy Davis and Kevin Spacey has me cracking up every time. And the police chief is AWESOME. It's probably my favorite Christene Baranski role, even including Birdcage, and the grandmother is just about the funniest character I've ever seen in a movie. She could give the old bat from Throw Mama from the Train a run for her money. I crack up laughing EVERY time I see the Ref. I bought it on DVD, and I watch it at least once before and at least once after Christmas every year.

Oh, and another Christmas movie I love is Christmas Vacation. Some of the scenes in that movie just crack me up.

I've never seen Christmas Vacation, European Vacation turned me off to that series quickly. But as far as Chevy Chase Christmas movies go, I love Funny Farm. And it has a good chunk of it set at Christmas time.

That's something we shall have to remedy (another movie quote...name the film?).

European Vacation is the second-worst of the Vacation films, only slightly better than Vegas Vacation, which is utterly putrid. Christmas Vacation is one of those that gets better every time I watch it.

Except the one where he was the gardener. That was the most depressing movie I have ever seen.

Yea, Christmas Vacation is awesome. It's probably my favorite of the vacation movies, though the original is a REALLY close second.

I definitely liked Funny Farm, too, though I wouldn't really call it a Christmas movie. The mailman in that movie is a riot.

Does anybody remember the Fletch and Jerk movies? I liked those back in the day, but haven't seen them in a while. Do they stand the test of time, or did I just like them with my juvenile sense of humor back then?

And I know it's trite, but Caddyshack and Fast Times at Ridgemont High still crack me up every time I see them.
