Re: Weather Check!
Here in St. Louis we were supposed to start getting snow overnight last night, but the change over didn't start happening until mid-afternoon. It's not really sticking on the roads yet, but it's starting to stick on the grass. There are slushy patches on the sidewalks, though. We're supposed to get 3-5 inches of snow, last I heard. We'll see if that comes to pass when all is said and done.
Most people say that is it is the intellect which makes a great scientist. They are wrong: it is character.

Re: Weather Check!
DC talking about 30" of snow. They can have it. We have had 1.75" of rain so far since MN. We dodged a HUGE bullet here. That translates to about 18* of snow.

Re: Weather Check!
6" - 8" total here since late yesterday. Looks like driving may be a bit treacherous on the local streets. Mainly for the other drivers. So, so many people out last night that shouldn't have been. I wasn't happy with the rental car and so had to drive much slower than I would have driven in my car. I was glad to finally get to my car, it was built for situations like last night.

Re: Weather Check!
Looks like we've got about a foot on our balcony, though it looks like less out front--there's another building behind us, so the back is kind of a wind tunnel and the snow really builds up--so our total is probably more like 8" so far, and it's still coming down pretty hard.
Sounds like the DC area is really getting hammered, again. Everybody, stay warm!

Re: Weather Check!
Watching the 'Nova - Geargetown game on ESPN (praying for no overtime so we get to see our game). They just showed a shot looking out a window. Definitely a blizzard out there! Now showing people walking on plowed streets. Glad nothing is falling here, at least right now, although it is just 20 miles to the north http://www.weather.com/outlook/events/s ... irect=true

Confirmed sighting of about 30 minutes of snow flurries here in north Raleigh. Don't worry, we've got bread, TP and OJ...OZZIE4DUKE wrote:On Saturday morning?shereec wrote:light snow and sleet here close to downtown Raleigh

Re: Weather Check!
DC is indeed getting hammered with Weather Channel reports of 14-30" in the DC/Ballmore area earlier this AM and still lots of stuff to come, perhaps another 6-8". They can have it.OZZIE4DUKE wrote:Watching the 'Nova - Geargetown game on ESPN (praying for no overtime so we get to see our game). They just showed a shot looking out a window. Re: Weather Check!
Atlanta just got bombarded by ten minutes of very light sleet. Rush to the store for milk and bread! It's just cloudy now.
