My birthdate deal thingy worked out that the top single was some obscure crap by Pat Boone. #-o
There was no album chart.
Damn. I was hoping for something cool, like some jump-blues. Maybe Wynonie Harris  or Little Richard's 'The Girl Can't Help It'. \:d/

I caught a cold while traveling. I think it's the highly variable night temperatures due to staying in a different hotel each night.

Yep. I grew up listening to "underground" FM stations from Philly like WMMR and really disliked "pop" music.

Curse you, Miles. Now, when I get home this afternoon, I'm gonna have to start listening to the small stack of big band CDs I have on my nightstand. Again ;) :D \:d/ .
You say that like it's a bad thing. I think it sounds like a great thing! In fact, I could be In the Mood for some of those CDs alos.
Sorry, not meant to sound like a bad thing. That's why I put Mr. Winkie and Mr. Grin in my post.

In the Mood. Heh-heh. Fabulous song. We learned last year you can dance single or triple time swing to that song, in addition to foxtrot :D \:d/ .

Sounds like a great excuse to rearrange the living room and dance the night away!
Good thought but I'll be dancing tomorrow night with some other folks from the studio as Mrs. DD will be attending the gt mugging. I am on back-up call so I can't leave town. But I can dance. Or try to at least. We'll be dancing on Friday night at our studio for the weekly practice party. In addition, Mrs. DD just made reservations for a Valentine's dance to some big band music in Wake Forest at a new place called Tuxedo Junction (yes, named for the GMO song ;) ).

wilson wrote:#1 song: Dexy's Midnight Runners, 'Come On, Eileen' (fucking solid)
#1 album: Kids from 'Fame', 'The Kids from Fame'

My parents were apparently grooving to #1 song 'It's My Party' and/or #1 album 'Queen's Greatest Hits'.
I remember the first time I saw the Come On Eileen video on MTV. I was a junior at Duke, and I was at a party at my BF's townhouse. What a cool song!

I've never even heard of these songs. They're from the UK charts:

The #1 single was Helen Shapiro - "Walkin' Back To Happiness"

The #1 album was Cliff Richard & The Shadows - "I'm 21 Today"

Billboard tells me that the #1 song on the day I was born was:

"Big Bad John" by Jimmy Dean.
