Have it checked out. In the meantime, be prepared. Be ready with an alternate source of heat ( a good idea even when there is no problem) and dress for the worst case.http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/ ... _200307957
I bought one of these above, this past Saturday.

Re: LTE 2.0
AD thanks, that's a good idea!!!!! I was also thinking of getting one of my friends to come down with a truck and plow and well.... that would just be evil of me! Please forgive me! It was all I could do to bite my tongue and not introduce myself!ArkieDukie wrote:Shin kicks to the dumbass. Next time shovel the snow onto his car.cl15876 wrote:I feel ya! There was a lot of it out there and I too am relaxing at the moment all done drinking a glass of water with lemon. Some dumbass (from down the pipe stem off of the end of the street) decided that parking in front of my house was a good idea, so the plow came through and guess whose side of the street didn't get plowed.... So, I had to dig and extra 8-10 feet longer into the road with harden chucks of snow/ice boulders piled higher than the snow and needed to dig at least 6-8 feet wide so I could get my car out and then had to dig a wide path to the mail box. So while I'm shoveling, the guy comes up the street and starts digging his car out, it naturally backs out nicely because my neighbor had already shoveled out behind the car so he could get out of his driveway and then the guy drives back home. About an hour to two later as I am still trying to get a clear path to the street, the guy drives by to go out shopping or where ever he went. Unbelievable!!!!bjornolf wrote:I spent 5.5 hours shoveling snow yesterday, and I'm now in a lot of pain. Hitting the heating pad now.

Robbie, can you download the game to CD or DVD from your Tivo/DVR and give to your Grandparents to relay to DD and his Mrs. DD. They would love to see their daughter on the big screen of which she got some air time! Great memory! Let me know if you don't know how to do that.Rolvix wrote:Catching up on the Gonzaga game. Re: LTE 2.0
The only way to eat them, I agree! However, I was reading the comments on one recipe from the Linkey I eventually got hip with to post, and the lady made like 400 of them, cooked and froze some of them so when she would bring them out, put in the toaster or some oil and finish the cooking and heating process. I might have to try this. I've done this previously with MacDonalds fries (many years ago) after refrigerating and they turned out okay (that was a while ago with that oil that wasn't good for you before they changed their recipe).YmoBeThere wrote:If it doesn't make you cry, it's not hot.

Re: LTE 2.0
Could the furnace be powering the fan using a belt? That would explain the screeching under load potentially and not otherwise, but I would have to see the setup. It helps to be able to see these things...hmmm, post a video on U-tube?

Oh, the hotter the better!!!! Down in San Antonio, you can buy pickled Jalapenos just about everywhere (big ones for a quarter), they aren't that hot, but yummy! What is that stuff that goes with sushi, green paste, now that stuff is good.... hmmmm, I'm having a memory lapse, ... I was just about to tell DD about it an hour or so ago as we were talking about sushi..... I'll remember as soon as I hit submit, but ... what the hey... worthy of another post ......Lavabe wrote:Don't worry. They are clearing my sinuses. Wasn't there an issue with your furnace before you bought the condo?ArkieDukie wrote:My furnace is making an awful noise. It sounds a bit like a belt and disk sander. A loud, grinding noise, specifically. It starts when the furnace kicks on and runs for almost the entire time that the furnace is running. What the heck is going on? How worried should I be? I called a heat and air company and left a message for a call back tomorrow. Hopefully it's not a problem that will cause my furnace to croak.

Tilly, thanks also! I think this is the first time I've gotten shin kicks (Glad they aren't mine) support! The shin kickers always come to the aid of family and friends. We wouldn't kick your shins, unless you did something to hurt our Cathy.cl15876 wrote:Tilly, thanks also! I think this is the first time I've gotten shin kicks (Glad they aren't mine) support! I need to post in the milestone thread!

Re: LTE 2.0
I thought you got them to replace it, or a big discount so you could pay for the replacement when it failed? A bad grinding noise does sound like a bad bearing in the fan motor. That's about the only motor in a gas/oil furnace. A heat pump would have a compressor, which is (like) a motor and has lots of rotating parts.TillyGalore wrote:Wasn't there an issue with your furnace before you bought the condo?ArkieDukie wrote:My furnace is making an awful noise. Robbie - Do you have Tivo? There is some software that is called Tivo Desktop (Free download) which will let you download the movies you have recorded on Tivo to your computer, then I think you can download to your computer CD/DVD. We can work thru it brother!Rolvix wrote:I have absolutely no idea how to do that. Good memory, Tilly! This is a "new" furnace that the buyers had sitting around. It's actually 10 yrs old, but it's newer than the furnace that was originally in the unit. It failed the Laclede Gas inspection.TillyGalore wrote:Wasn't there an issue with your furnace before you bought the condo?ArkieDukie wrote:My furnace is making an awful noise. Just to be safe, I made a quick trip to Target to buy a space heater and a CO detector. Should've had the CO detector all along.

Here's the thing, though: furnace off, fan on - no loud racket. Wouldn't that mean that the fan is okay? With that being said, the noise is remarkably like the one that you hear in a car when there's an issue with the fan.OZZIE4DUKE wrote:I thought you got them to replace it, or a big discount so you could pay for the replacement when it failed?
