What fictional character would you rather have as a father?

Post by EarlJam » December 14th, 2009, 5:53 pm

Pretend you are a kid. You can pick any of the characters in the poll to be your dad (if your dad was somehow not able to be your dad). Don't make this sad. Your dad is still your dad. This is just for thought.

Also, you do NOT have to live in the time period these characters lived in. It would be the same time period when you grew up.

Capn Kirk...no contest. I don't care if he never even visited, and I'd probably have lots of brothers and sisters I'd never know about. But I'd get to visit other planets. That's all that would matter.

I went with Cosby. Thought about Pa Ingalls until I saw Cos on the list. Both characters have great relationships with their children.

Plus you could become a famous scientist and invent the biggest weapon of mass destruction ever and then get murdered by Klingons.

But he does have Andy Griffith, and both were Ron Howard's dad. I bet Andy used the belt on Opie, and Mr. C made Richie sit in the corner.

I picked Bill Cosby. I could never go with Andy Griffith, fricking tarhole, blah. I even heard him (Andy Taylor) recite the "I'm a tarheel born" bullshit on the Andy Griffith show once. Plus, I heard he's not so nice in real life. How's that for rumor mongering? Do I get an infraction or a reward????

Damn you.

Have you never seen a sunrise? A sunset on the beach? The ass of a baboon in heat? How can you have lived to adulthood without seeing the glorious treasure that is The Andy Griffith Show? May God have mercy on your soul.

Considering that it is on literally 24 hours a day, it is a truly impressive feat.
