"Don't Look Back" is a GREAT bad mood song. I Boston. I saw them in concert before Brad Delp's death. They were very good in a live setting.

"High School Never Ends" by Bowling for Soup always makes me laugh. At my former job this particular song used to pop up on my play list at highly appropriate times. "The B!tch is Back" by Elton John is another goodie that used to come up on random shuffle mode at very opportune moments. Believe me, it's very difficult to NOT laugh when you're working away in the lab, your supervisor walks in, and either of the two previously mentioned songs starts playing on your iPod. Maybe it's only funny if you've experienced something like my former job.

ExLax uses "The Bitch is Back" for my ringtone. I kind of like it. Except that I'm not his bitch.

Oh, the boys know. And we've had discussions about whether that is a respectful way to treat their mother. They're embarrassed by it. I don't demand that he change it because the ringtone is tangible evidence of who the real bitch is in this (former) relationship.

They've also questioned his ringtone for them: "Cat's In The Cradle."

My ringtone for my boys is "Sweet Child Of Mine."

I'm sure he thinks he is being clever - however, this attitude about the mother of his children will come back to bite him in the butt. Kids are pretty smart about these things. They know who the real adult is.

I haven't set any individual ringtones - not even sure I can on this phone. However, everyone that calls me prompts the playing of "Devil with the Blue Dress On" from the Duke Pep Band CD.

Sounds like your sons are pretty smart and that you have a very healthy attitude. Also sounds like ExLax is the complete opposite of both.

It saddened me deeply when Brad Delp passed. That band was full of a bunch of brainiacs. Didn't Tom Schultz graduate from an Ivy League school? They also gave constantly to many charities supporting proper treatment of animals and the environment.

I saw them during the "Third Stage" Tour in 1988 at Chapel Hell. They were awesome indeed.

Somewhere on the internets, I once posted a review of the Boston concert I attended over in Concord at the Sleep Train Amphitheater. (<---that word looks like Anteater.)

Anyway, they had hired a new guitarist, Kimberly somebody, and she had the greatest arms. She also had beautiful blonde hair and a nice body, but I'm not jealous or anything--she was simply beautiful and talented.

Also, the lead singer, Brad Delp, couldn't hit all of his high notes, so they'd hired a singer to sing along with him when he had to sing some of the higher notes. Rather than transposing all of the music down into a new key, they just hired someone who could sing the notes.

They were so good in concert. I wish I'd saved my review somewhere so that I could retrieve it.

I was more thinking, help get the aggression out of my system - just something to match, not necessarily cure, the bad mood. I'm always up for expanding my musical repertoire (and have an all-you-can-eat music subscription service to try things out), so fire away!

Okay, so I really wanted to listen to some pounding, driving rock must tonight on the drive home - something to help me musically work out the aggressions of the day. But, I couldn't bring any songs to mind at the moment.

So, help me - what songs would be on your, "I just had a shitty day" playlist?

Good driving rock, as in music that's fun to drive to and get your blood pumping? I suggest J Geils Band "First I Look At The Purse". Or something from The Doors, like "Break On Through", "I Love Her Madly or "Hello, I Love You"!

Tilly's suggestion is good also! I always have that in my car.

Ooh, "Break on Through" definitely fits!

Not everyone's cup of tea, but there is a healthy mix of old and new garage rock.
