Hopefully you will get to watch the game on TV, but you have your priorities right.dpslaw wrote:Unfortunately, I'll be taking care of my dad on Saturday, so I won't be able to make it. I was really looking forward to the last brunchgate of the season, so I'm a bit bummed. I hope you all have the best 'gate ever, and I'll see you next year!

It should be nice by game time, but a bit chilly as the morning starts. Anybody have a few coffee thermos's they can bring, full of coffee and/or hot chocolate?

Menu change! Instead of ribeye's, they had just gotten in next week's special, NY Strips. I have 25 beautiful ~8 oz. NY Strip steaks in the fridge, waiting for tomorrow morning! Ymmm!

I may make a stop by Brunchgate tomorrow. Depends how early I get up before the game. Should be a great one, right?

I guess it's kinda late, but what can I pick up on the way? I don't think I'll be there until around 11 though.

Your coffee cake was awesome! I had 2 pieces. What a great Brunchgate. I enjoyed my day so much, except for the outcome of the game. I will miss all of you but am hoping we can get together some during basketball season. Love, Very Duke BlueIma Facultiwyfe wrote:We'll be there. Re: Bunchgate 11/28 (Attendance and Menu)
What a menu and crowd:
bagels and cream cheese
coffee
sausage balls
salsa and chips
OJ
baked beans
slaw
redskin potatoes
grilled corn
NY strip steaks
pecan/cinnamon breakfast cake
chocolate/peanut brittle "crackers"
pumpkin pie/tarts
brownies
cherry, pineapple, yellow upside-down cake/cobbler
wheat beer
IPA
oatmeal stout
imperial porter
chocolate indulgence ale
and that was just the Brunchgate crowd's stuff.
What did I miss?
Our fine neighbors this year, the Omegas, brought a whole pig on their cooker, shrimp, salmon and wings. I may have missed some stuff from their tent, too. We are requesting a tent next to theirs next year, too.
Thanks to EVERYONE who attended this year, whether it was 1 game or all 6, and all the posting, calling, arranging, planning, equipment, cooking AND clean-up that happened starting in April or so with OZZIE being the point man for this year's Brunchgates. A special and for his efforts. Y'all are a GREAT bunch.

Re: Bunchgate 11/28 (Attendance and Menu)
And a great time was again had by all!
Thanks for everyone pitching in and making this a great group effort. I can organize all I want (thanks, DD), but if YOU don't come and participate, and bring all your goodies, it would have all gone for naught. But thanks to each and every one of you, we had fun, ate a LOT of great food and drank some fine beers (and mimosa's!), got to know each other better, and made a lot of new friends, including the Omega's, Coach Cut's Cookers (who drive up from Mississippi and over from Tennessee for each game), DitBD and CrazieTowelGuy. And I drank a lot of Bud Light
From the original nine "commitments" last July, we had several more join us as the year went on (providing funds primarily for TNTDevil and CB&B, and for today's NY Strips!) and have had two or three people more commit to joining us (monetarily) next year. So I expect we'll be 15 to 20 strong next fall. And we get to do it seven (7) times next year, not just six! Next season is certainly something to look forward to, both on and off the field. As someone said, we went 6 - 0 in Brunchgates this year!
Special thanks does have to be given to TNTDevil and CB&B for their bringing all their gear, setting up at the crack of dawn, whether game time was noon or 7 p.m., and providing tons of food, beverages and know how, not to mention the only satellite TV at any Duke tailgate. And to Cowboy for pitching in his grills and stuff today in TNT's absence.
I love y'all! Thank you.

Re: Bunchgate 11/28 (Attendance and Menu)
Just got home, worn out but wishing it wasn't the end. I think this year of tailgating turned out much better than any of thought it would be, and as Ozzie said it was great meeting new friends amongst our neighbors. Thanks to all who brought food, drink and their company, what a great season! (And the football wasn't too bad, either )

Brunchgate was beyond my expectations this year. It was great last year. Out team was special. I have made so many new friends. Having Omega next door to us has been a huge plus. I love Duke. The best school. Go Devils.
