Just saying that I actually watched the MLS finals, between LA Galaxy and Real Salt Lake, and it was one of the most intense soccer finishes I've seen on tv in a long time. Always hard to top ending in penalty kicks, hard to believe Donavan sailed his over the cross bar.

Liverpool plays the same day at Goodison in the Merseyside Derby. Stevie G is back. Meanwhile, Glen Johnson and Daniel Agger should be in the lineup in Hungary this week. There's talk that El Nino may play Sunday.

Wigan players are refunding their fans who made it to the 9-1 game at White Hart Lane. Nice.
Arsenal is without van Persie, Bendtner, Clichy and Diaby.

So, Lampard is fit to play against Arsenal. Torres may be ready to play against Everton.

FWIW, I'm sucking big time in the I KNOW THE SCORE league. I finally figured out that the LOCK and DOLLAR symbols mean INSURANCE and THE GUARANTEE picks of the week, not the other way around. :ymblushing:

According to espn.go.com, van Persie is out 4 months or so, due to rupturing 3 ankle ligaments.

The horse placenta treatment wasn't going to help THAT much damage.

Sorry 'bout that, Rolvix.

Arsenal 0 - 2 Chelsea at the half.

Downpour. The 2nd goal was an own goal.

Walcott has come on for the 2nd half. Arsenal is in trouble.

Drogba made it Arsenal 0 - 3 Chelsea.
Cesc pulled a yellow in the last minute of the game. Idiot. People were streaming out of the Emirates with 10 minutes to go.
Chelsea now has FIVE clean sheets in a row. :-o

Ugh.
Arsenal seems to have been plagued by injuries so far this season.
Hopefully it turns around soon.

Wow. I didn't even know it was possible to do this bad in fantasy.
My team garnered a total of 13 points total with an average of just over 1.
-3 for Vermaelen.

104,000 rank this week out of 108,000 total.
I'm pretty sure that at least the bottom 1,000 don't play at all considering they have 0 points.

The Duke University men's soccer team will look to continue its NCAA Tournament run against No. 3 Wake Forest in third round action on Sunday, Nov. 29 at Spry Stadium in Winston-Salem. The Blue Devils and Demon Deacons square off at 5 p.m.

Hey, they came back from down 3-0 (when I last checked).

Well, I was ranked #256 2 weeks ago. I am now at 1200 or 1300 or so. I've been falling because of the lack of El Nino. He should be back for next week... I HOPE!! I also suffered from TWO weeks in which I had as captain a player who didn't play. STUPID!!

I decided to put Vermaelen on the bench this week, figuring he was going against Drogba and Anelka and Lampard. I DID have Terry in my lineup this week. If they keep clean-sheeting everyone, he will remain a fixture on my team.

Sorensen of Stoke had an AWESOME last few games, including a block of a penalty shot. I brought in Sorensen and Friedl for a combined 8.2 million pounds... i.e., the salary needed for Petr Cech!

My strikers are Bent, Torres, and Abonglahor. If Torres comes back soon, I'll be going with a 3-4-3 for a while.

My mids include Gerrard, Cesc, Ballack, and Reid. Ballack is injured, so I need to hope for his return sometime soon.
Cheers,

Nothing like Liverpool's injury woes!! YCCH!!

Arsenal needs another big striker. Transfer season is coming up soon!

Oh yeah... it's Wenger. I don't expect Arsenal to try getting a big name. Perhaps Ryan Babel? #-o Just sayin'.

I read where Stan Kroenke now holds 29.9% of Arsenal shares. Go figure!

I haven't been following soccer for more than a few years - has Wenger ever bought a big name player? :(

Wenger's specialty is raising the talent from within. Having said that, it's a GREAT strategy when supplemented by moves to get folks like van Persie. He also seems to be able to keep Cesc in the fold.

Having said that, it's hard for this strategy to work when you have Chelsea, ManU, and now ManCity blowing huge amounts on players. Liverpool is known for spending wildly, but I don't see that happening this year given its ownership woes.

QUITE a row going on with the WC seedings. The French would have been a top 8 seed had FIFA's November ranking been used. Instead, they are using the October ones, which rank the French lower.

Probably the other big news is that Sepp Blatter has apologized to Ireland for comments he made in support of Henry in the handball incident..
