Duke vs UNCG

Post by Jesus_hurley » November 12th, 2009, 3:21 pm

Duke vs UNCG is on at 7:00 PM 11/13 on Fox Sports with Bob Rathbun and Mike Gminski announcing.

* Nolan Smith will not play as he is suspended for playing in unsanctioned summer games.
* Mason Plumlee will be out with a broken wrist (more info should be available later on this)
All-Time Series: Duke is 7-0 all-time against UNC Greensboro, including a 5-0 mark at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Let's make it 8-0!

Unfortunately, I don't get Fox Sports South. Ah well, maybe I can listen on XM. Go Devils!

Check justin.tv and chanelsurfing.net - they may have a stream of the game at one of those two places.

Also - no Jordan Davidson tonight.

Thought they played pretty well considering it was the first game and we were missing several people. Dawkins picked up 4 fouls - but had several really good plays. He'll be a great player for us. Loved seeing Olek - I was hoping he'd get some minutes and was pleasantly surprised by his play. Ryan Kelly had a good game as well.

Duke played a good bit of zone - Miles in the middle of that could make for quite a few blocked shots. All in all it was a good game to start the season. Here are the stats:

I was on the road and missed tip off for both halves (but listened to most of first, watched most of 2cnd), and was guessing Olek got the start due to his early presence on the court. It was great to see him make the most of his time out there. K said in hindsight he should have redshirted Cycz, he was facing such a huge learing curve last year (language as much as anything else) that he really wasn't ready. He looks ready now!

He was offered the 'shirt and apparently declined.

Favorite cheer of the night:
Go to Hell Carolina, Go to Hell!!

It came through loud and clear on the tv.

"Drive home safely!" also was pretty clear.

Not much else for cheers except the "you suck" and 3:-O :poo: re-appeared. I think they will disappear again rather quickly.

Agree. "you suck" sounds like the maryland fan base. I don't want anyone thinking we are like maryland. ^#(^

Oh, I know. I was saying that I loved to see him get some good minutes. He looked better then last year but it was UNCG. The only time I had to scream at him through the TV was when he shot from 3.

It was a 'Jesus Olek!' moment. :D
