Re: LTE 2.0
For the record, my last correct pick was Secretariat. The 1973 Belmont was and is the only horse race I've ever been to. LIke a dummy, I cashed my winning ticket to collect my $2.20. Hey, I was 18, what did I know about collectibles? I had Secretariat and Sham in the quinella (first and second place finishers), but Sham faded at the end. He had finished 2nd in the Derby and Preakness behind Secretariat. No "second place" triple crown for Sham.Bostondevil wrote:For the record, my last correct pick was Smarty Jones in 2004.

Well, according to titles, we've a long way to go.
Speaking of go, I must leave to acquire food for the In-Law in the recliner.

I stayed away, although apparently I could have bet it at Keeneland. They have a pretty mean party there on Derby Day.YmoBeThere wrote:Nope...I picked the 5 horse, Hold Me Back. They finished 12th.Lavabe wrote:So I take that you didn't pick Mine That Bird.

I guess I saved me some money on that race.

Tornado warning! It seems to all be past here, yet warnings still in place. We had wind and sprinkles of rain but thankfully nothing more. People were calling in to local TV to complain about weather coverage being broadcast instead of network programming.
They's awful ignurnt, ain't dey?

I have never met anyone so serious about hating pee on them below the knee. You must have an interesting story for that one.cl15876 wrote:I think I might have said, "What an ARC!!!! I was helping my oldest son wash his hands (the sink in that bathroom is a little high for him to use alone comfortably) and my younger son came in, climbed up on his stool, dropped his drawers, and started peeing in the toilet. About three seconds later, my bare leg started getting wet (I wear shorts 90% of the time). I looked down to realize that my younger son was peeing on me. from across the room (about five feet). I looked up at him and in my best Judge Judy voice, said "don't tell me it's raining!"

Yesterday's weather was great, cool breeze all day long, lots of flower planting and gardening done, and I got burnt.

Re: LTE 2.0
Sorry, I was gone a few days. One of our friends and her family were over for an afternoon and we had dinner. She decided to heat some plates in the microwave w'o any water source. Says she does it all the time. Anyway, I looked it up on the internet, and it said that since microwave safe plates are either invisible or reflective of microwaves, it's like running your microwave empty. Anyway, she fried it. It's one of those over the range one. Spent the weekend buying and installing a new one. Cost me $240. The REALLY annoying part is that even though it's just the new version of the same model, the three GIGANTIC screws that attach it above to the cabinet are in totally different places, so I had to drill three more GIGANTIC holes in my cabinet. Boy was THAT annoying. SO, tip for you guys, DON'T heat your plates in the microwave, and if you DO, make sure to throw a bowl of water in there with them.

Re: LTE 2.0
Oh, and to the person that asked me if that was my crazy son that peed on me, yes it was. He's not my best story though. Sean, my oldest, peed in my face a few times when he was a little fella. Lots of baby boys pee when you take off their diaper sometimes, but Sean launched THE SECOND you got the diaper off 85% of the time. It was insane. He peed in my face, my wife's, his own. It was crazy. Thank God he's out of that phase.
My grossest kid story was from my oldest, Sean, when he was two. We were in wal-mart walking down that aisle and he was talking to me. I was carrying him. He asked me to hold him up high, so I did, right over my face. He suddenly said "sick!" and puked straight into my mouth, all over my face, and down my shirt. To my credit, I didn't get sick. I carried him into the bathroom, spit as much as I could into the toilet, cleaned us both up, then washed it down with an ice cold Dr. Pepper. That was NOT the best tasting drp I ever drank. So, enjoy that one.
