With all due respect, I'd like to challenge the assertion that some these words or phrases are annoying. Shouldn't of they been more specific about why they're annoying? I mean, at the end of the day they're just words right? Personally, at the end of the day, the way we all use words is fairly unique. At this moment in time, I am absolutely using words to express my opinion. It's not rocket science, it's a nightmare. I absolutely think that 24/7 is annoying.

At the risk of annoyance, I have to stop by here and put in . One of my quirky annoyances is "fairly unique" or "rather unique" or "somewhat unique". I don't think there can be varying degrees of "uniqueness". It either is or it isn't.....unique, that is.

And while I'm at it, I would prefer that the pilot not come on the PA system and tell me that "We will be in the air momentarily." , bless his heart!

I've been hearing this a lot lately (or my ears have been tuning in to it) and it seems to more often be a cover-up for any of the following:

"not like I want it to be"
"not like it used to be"
"different from me"
"not like around here"

Yeah, we don't use that. Neither do the Brits. In fact, the only people I ever hear using that are Yanks.
