Corn bread's in the oven. We'll have nice and fresh.

One loaf with jalapenos, one with kernels, and two "standard".Lavabe wrote:With or without jalapenos? Hopefully both?wilson wrote:Corn bread's in the oven. We'll have nice and fresh.

Re: Brunchgate 10/24 Edition: Planning and Attendance
And a GREAT all-day Brunchgate was had by all! TNT and CB&B (and others) again did a fantastic job setting up the facilities and grills, to say nothing about all the great food they prepared and provided! My mom's brisket was a hit! I knew it would be - I rarely steer people wrong when it comes to food ;) And thanks to all for the additional foods and goodies you brought! Everything was delicious and there was surprisingly little left by the time we all went to the BBall game.
It was great to finally meet Bob Green and his dad - thanks for coming to Brunchgate (all the way from Japan!), and for today's contribution. Also, thanks to Miles for contributing a full share towards today's and future provisions.
If anyone (let me call you Brunchgate tent members) wants some money for something "special" for either the GaTech or Wake games, PM me and I'll see what I can provide to you from the small remaining cache of available funds.
Bring on the Hoos!

Re: Brunchgate 10/24 Edition: Planning and Attendance
My word. What an event.
Bagels and cream cheese
butter pee-can cookies
cinnamon raisin bread
crab and broccoli casserole
broccoli salad
Oriental cole slaw
crudites
fruit salad
beef brisket
baked beans
salsa and chips
rolls
wings
deviled eggs
chili (5-6 quarts of it!)
cornbread
beef tenderloin
grilled BLUE fish
Rice Krispies treats with CHOCOLATE CHIPS
pumpkin cheesecake squares
pumpkin cake and cream cheese icing
hamburgers
NOTE: I did not eat all that stuff but there are not many things I did not sample. A fabulous spread and all highly tasty.
Oh, BMs, mimosas, Aqua Fresca and beers. Many varieties of beers. Delicious ones, too. Tasters and traders.
My apologies to anyone if I left out an item you brought. It was a prolonged feast and I may have missed listing something I did not sample.
Truly a great effort by all who participated/contributed.

Re: Brunchgate 10/24 Edition: Planning and Attendance
Well that was quite possibly the best "All-daygate" I've ever attended! ;) So much good food, so many new faces -Bob Green, his dad, JH and some I met but didn't get names (or don't remember ). And the return of some old friends- DSLaw and Jim!
Then the football team had to go and screw it up- By MAKING HISTORY! WAY TO GO DUKE FOOTBALL!
So much food... a great job by D-squared recounting the menu.
The hoops game was outstanding, with the exception that I felt a bit bad for those kids from Pfeiffer...
On a house keeping note, I we found two white pot holders/hot mitts and a plastic serving spoon. If they belong to you, shoot me a PM and we'll work on reuniting you with your gear.
Now, time to take down those Wahoos!
