Man, I feel terrible for people affected by this Chinese drywall thing, but what can be done? I guess suing the homebuilder is the only option.

And that probably won't get the homeowners anywhere. The CGL policies issued to the contractors likely won't cover this (although Florida has some of the most favorable CGL laws in the country). In the end these homeowners will have to take the paltry settlement offers they get from both their homeowners insurers and the contractor's CGL carriers, neither of which will come close to making them whole.bjornolf wrote:Man, I feel terrible for people affected by this Chinese drywall thing, but what can be done? While we have favorable CGL laws - we have an entire insurance industry looking for a reason to drop homeowner's policies!rockymtn devil wrote:And that probably won't get the homeowners anywhere. All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost; the old that is strong does not wither, deep roots are not reached by the frost.
