Emphasis is on the word 'once'. :ymbringiton:
Not to say she doesn't get in a decent amount of trouble, but she doesn't seem to learn. :ymsmug:
Reason #9764 that I'm nowhere near ready to have kids. I'd smack the teeth straight out of her face.
Or maybe punch her in the junk.

This quote doesn't really bother me, but reading yours made me think of a GREAT movie quote: "I'm too old for this shit." ;)

I think I started with something like "one of your friends better be standing behind me becasue if that 'whatever' was directed at me your life just got real ugly, real quick....and I also recall plaster falling off the ceiling :D . She was steppin' and fetchin' trying to get out of that one (in her defense one nano second after she did it she KNEW she'd gone over the line). I did not backhand her (although I was tempted) although my middle step daughter will tell you I move pretty quick (she was a difficult teen and took a swing at me...which I blocked, grabbed the arm, pinned it behind her back and parked her into a wall before she could think). This was the same kid who 6 months earlier slammed her bedroom door one too many times...I told her if she didn't again I'd take it off the hinges...she opened the door and (was there ever a doubt) slammed it as hard as she could. The hinges were on the outside of the room. You bet I did.

Am NOT expecting that from Legacy Lady. But just in case, what did you do with WD (in terms of punishment) when she said it the one time (and may I borrow whatever you did)?

Yes, you may. In context the 'whatever' showed not only a total lack of repsect for me, but a lack of appreciation for what she had and what we (her family) did...I was telling her she needed to clean her bathroom (which is also the guest bath) because company was coming...it was just too much of an imposition on her precious time ( X( ) I said ‘they’ll be here at X time, it needs to be clean by then…hand up, whatever…eye roll. I told her she was not the queen of the universe and that she had to contribute as well as receive...if it was too much trouble for her to help me out, well it was going to become too much trouble for me to help HER out...so In addition to confiscating her phone and killing her internet connection for what I think was a week...I quit doing anything for her. Laundry, cooking, cleaning, driving...nothing....it was too much of an imposition on my time...I resisted the temptation to give her a whatever when she asked for something :D

...I just thought of something...one of those parenting moments when I knew I had done something right....

WD was probably in 8th grade...on the phone with a friend and has just asked me if she could do something (I forget what) to which I had answered 'No'...she was still on the phone with the friend, headed back to her room and just before she shut her door I heard her tell the friend "Oh no way...begging doesn't work it just pisses her off..No is No" I swear I did a victory dance :D

One of my most hated is "I only work here". No shit, that's why I'm asking and/or complaining to you. Because you work here!
I thought back to this after reading NCSU player Toney Baker's comments on yesterday's Duke victory...

"I just do what they tell me to do."

With the troubles Miles has had with his boss recently, he might be axed to leave.
