The Deep Fried Thread
Have at it folks. What have you had/seen/read about that has been deep fried? From the land, from the sea, from the air, from the candy aisle or from the cookie aisle. List 'em here.
I'll start. From the NC State Fair: deep fried oreos.

Re: The Deep Fried Thread
Deep-fried Snickers: Delicious. Like, one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten (though I can only put about two bites down).
Deep-fried Twinkies: better than the standard item (which I don't really like all that much).
Fried Coke: Pretty good...like a faintly weird funnel cake.
Deep-fried (though not breaded) hot dogs: Fucking amazing.

Re: The Deep Fried Thread
Deep fried banana pudding at the state fair as well as deep fried pickles. I really liked both
Re: The Deep Fried Thread
I too love fried pickles, though I've never had fried banana pudding. I want some.DukePA wrote:Deep fried banana pudding at the state fair as well as deep fried pickles. I really liked both

Re: The Deep Fried Thread
I couldn't figger out for the life of me how they deep-fried Coke until I read one of the State Fair articles the year it was introduced. They saturated funnel cakes with the syrup and then deep-fried it.wilson wrote:Deep-fried Snickers: Delicious. Well that explains it...Frankly, I'd rather just have a funnel cake.devildeac wrote:I couldn't figger out for the life of me how they deep-fried Coke until I read one of the State Fair articles the year it was introduced. They saturated funnel cakes with the syrup and then deep-fried it.

Re: The Deep Fried Thread
This year the new item is rumored to be a deep-fried banana split. Seriously.wilson wrote:I too love fried pickles, though I've never had fried banana pudding. I want some.DukePA wrote:Deep fried banana pudding at the state fair as well as deep fried pickles. I really liked both

See, that's another thing that just sounds really damned good to me. Revolting on a certain level, yes, but undoubtedly delicious.devildeac wrote:This year the new item is rumored to be a deep-fried banana split. You should be here during the time of the NC State Fair then if you'll be attending the terps FB game...wilson wrote:See, that's another thing that just sounds really damned good to me. Re: The Deep Fried Thread
Of course you can. Then you can visit the NC State Ag booth and have a ginormous amount of ice cream for about $4. ;)wilson wrote:Well, can I have a funnel cake and a Coke?devildeac wrote:WHAT? My standard NC State Fair approach: Enter with $40. Spend $8 on Demolition Derby. Spend $32 on food.devildeac wrote:Of course you can. Then you can visit the NC State Ag booth and have a ginormous amount of ice cream for about $4. ;)
I have never ridden a single ride at the NC Fair, in at least five visits.

Deep fried turkey - injected with cajun spices. Delicious!
Texas State Fair has deep fried butter or so I've read.

Re: The Deep Fried Thread
They had deep fried cheesecake, and deep fried peaches at the Nebraska State Fair. I tried neither, but am somewhat regretting not trying the fried fruit.

Re: The Deep Fried Thread
I understand that they are gonna have fried butter at the fair, much like the Texas state fair did.
