I bet if you were to think outside the box you'd be able to come up with a more acceptable substitute.

Umm... "She" called me the other night and told me "she" doesn't like people misquoting her like this. "She" was pretty livid.DevilAlumna wrote:That *is* what she said!knights68 wrote:"Not gunna do it, not gunna touch it at this juncture".

Not really a word or a phrase, but the following conversational interaction makes me crazy.
Speaker 1 asks a question to which Speaker 2 responds "No" only to be followed by Speaker 1 repeating the same question again but this time in a snarky, condescending tone.
Example:
Speaker 1: "Hey, have you seen that new movie that just came out?"
Speaker 2: "No, I haven't seen that yet"
Speaker 1: "You haven't seen that movie yeat?!? "

Right before I read this post I had the following conversation with :
: Have you had anything to eat?
: No.
: You haven't had anything to eat yet? (The inflection got louder at the end of the phrase.)

Oh snap! Well, I still like you and all, I'll just have to be extra careful about answering "Yes/No" questions when you're around. ;-)CathyCA wrote:GUILTY as charged, your honor!Miles wrote:Not really a word or a phrase, but the following conversational interaction makes me crazy.

One of my most hated is "I only work here". No shit, that's why I'm asking and/or complaining to you. Because you work here!Miles wrote:I didn't sign up for this.
