Aargh! I can see how that would get really old, really fast. So sorry that the doctors seem to be too busy passing the buck to do the right thing. Here's hoping things get better soon. Another dose of mega vibes coming your way. Ima, how's the eye doing?Ima Facultiwyfe wrote:Hold the phone! Turns out this isn't as great as at first glance. They sent her home even sicker than she went in. Higher fever, more swelling and pain and with only a guess at the right antibiotic (no cultures or sensitivity tests). She tried everything to speak to her doctor first, but they gave her no choice but to leave. She finally reached the resident on the phone after she got home. He says nobody told him her fever had gone over 101. The nurses told her they had called and told somebody! So our question is "who"? She was finally able to reach her surgeon this evening who says he'll check in with her tomorrow. Big deal. Soooo the buck stops where? Our faith in Duke hospital is really, really shaky right now. This junk is really getting old.

I hope the buck passing ends soon and the treatment and improvement begins. Sounds like the motivation to send patients home is related to the arrival of the weekend. I'm sending higher dose of vibes and relentless prayers for a turn around.

Hi Ima, I hope things are going better for you and yours. I had missed your updates from "over yonder" until I went to the first football game and learned about this place from Ozzie. It is a great place. I look forward to seeing you again when basketball starts. My thoughts and prayers are coming through. "Come on boys" AW.

Well, at the moment I can see out of one OR the other (they just don't work together) which means I wink all the time! I just hope that doesn't get me into trouble in some bar somewhere.bjornolf wrote:Yea, how are the eyes?
As for DukeRah, we're waiting to see the results of this round of IV stuff . She has another CT scan in a few days. She's plugging along at work trying not to let on that she hurts A LOT!!! She can't afford to give the impression that she can't handle it. We feed her and put her right to bed when she comes home each day.
As soon as there is something to report one way or the other, I'll sure let all you caring people know!
Thanks for asking.

Thank you for letting us know how you are doing. I hope each day will bring better sight in both eyes at the same time! I can commiserate with your daughter's plugging along hiding the pain and hope she experiences some improvement in the immediate future!Ima Facultiwyfe wrote:Well, at the moment I can see out of one OR the other (they just don't work together) which means I wink all the time! She's a trouper, but she had to bail out early and skip the game. The heat was doing her in, so discretion was the better part of valor. Still we were so glad she made it as far as she did and that she got to meet more of you guys. Our grandson got a real kick out of everybody, too. This is a super bunch of folks. The nicest crowd I've met in a long, long time.
