Kyrie Irving visit!
Irving has removed IU and UCONN from his list of schools and will be here this weekend. Other schools in the hunt:
UK, Seton Hall, GT, Texas A&M
http://www.zagsblog.com/2009/09/21/irvi ... not-uconn/
On a related note, we are no longer on Brandon Knights list:

Hopefully, Irving will commit this weekend followed shortly by Barnes and Rivers....

I actually wish his visit was during the opening festivities of the basketball team, bummer.Devil in the Blue Dress wrote:Hopefully, Irving will commit this weekend followed shortly by Barnes and Rivers

Did anyone else catch the webcast he did on Sunday? That was pretty cool even though there were a bunch of moron's from IU and UK messing around.

But, as Ozzie often says, (paraphrasing) I'll be their fan/supporter when the ink dries on the LOI and they enroll in summer school at Duke in June or July after their senior year of HS (or after they finish their senior English course ;) )

This SOP regarding when a recruit becomes one of us holds true for football as well..... the key words is enrolls.devildeac wrote:That's what my source in virginia seems to believe...Jesus_hurley wrote:Irving has removed IU and UCONN from his list of schools and will be here this weekend. Re: Kyrie Irving visit!
A little birdie told me we are in excellent shape for Irving. Apparently Rivers is planning on making an official visit next year so that should tell you something about his verbal to UF. Barnes apparently wants to play with one/both of them. The staff expects to see 2 or 3 playing together in Duke Blue in the next 1-2-3 years.
Just sayin'...

Here are some of the on campus shenanigans for Kyrie:

It's also nice to hear Jason Williams is in town during the visit. Even if it is for a clinic for younger players.

The athletic dept made the students take the signs down - against NCAA regulations.Jesus_hurley wrote:Here are some of the on campus shenanigans for Kyrie:

Re: Kyrie Irving visit!
Not surprising..it's like how State made the guy shutdown his facebook group seeking one of the recruits they had, except the signs are more blatant and obvious. IMO, it's a stupid rule. I'm pretty sure no kid is going to choose a school because students hang banner's from their windows.Jesus_hurley wrote:The athletic dept made the students take the signs down - against NCAA regulations.Jesus_hurley wrote:Here are some of the on campus shenanigans for Kyrie:

Re: Kyrie Irving visit!
I want to see him tomorrow!
But I could see the banners influencing a 17-year old at least a little bit. I know it would have an effect on me!

I have heard from a very good source that 2010 recruit Kyrie Irving is likely preparing to commit to the Duke Blue Devils. Irving is #9 on the Rivals150 List for 2010.
Kentucky made the final list for Irving, but he has generally been considered a Duke lean for some time now.

Very nice. Very, very nice. I'm really hoping our recruiting fortunes experience an uptick soon...we're due for it.Jesus_hurley wrote:Adding fuel to the fire:

Lots of chatter over yonder indicating that Irving is set to announce for Duke as early as Monday.
Numerous media outlets in Kentucky are reporting this as fact.
