I want an e-reader. I do not need an e-reader but I want one. They are cool.

I have no doubt that 1.3 nanoseconds after I purchase one a much cooler/newer one will be announced and mine will be rendered obsolete.

I still want one.

Any CTNers use one...which one...and do you like it?

I've played around with them in stores and so far I'm not impressed, but I share your enthusiasm. I've got Amazon's Kindle app for the iPhone. It comes in handy during the rare occasion I'm sitting around waiting for someone.

I do too - I love the feel of books but I want something that travels better than 50 lbs of paper!

Plastic Logic/Barnes & Nobles new reader coming out soon looks totally cool - geared more to business users than casual readers - no idea how much it will be...my best guess is 'a lot'
B&N will have more titles and access to googles library -

The brand spankin' new color e-reader is over $1000 - more than I'm willing to spend on a toy.

Me too. I also prefer post cards to e-mail, and face-to-face conversations over phone calls. Technology does offer some decent alternatives whenever the preferred options aren't available. Sadly, I think many people expect alternatives to supplant the "originals". In my opinion, there is just no substitute for paper books and post cards.

Also, I need people to keep purchasing books and post cards so that I may stay gainfully employed.
