This is very cool. Since it's not Duke, it's up here in Our House...but it's a great sports story. Even it involves a heel and member of the pack.

WOW! That story gives me chills.
BTW, I was also at the Final Four in Seattle in 1989. I wonder why MJ and DT didn't ask me to pose with them in that picture, too. . . ;)

Interesting story. Does anyone remember the issue with DT and the sports coat that Duke apparently bought for him that landed them in a bit of hot water? My husband talks about it every so often. I usually gaze off into the middle distance and hum to myself.
I'm not a fan of MJ's, seeing as how I'm a Detroiter and a Dukie but it's nice that he is thinking beyond himself. I was mildly pulling for him when he stepped outside his comfort zone and gave baseball a shot.
And, of course, I'm SURE he's losing sleep over my opnion!

IIRC, a Duke booster gave/loaned DT a pair of slacks and/or a sport coat (for an interview?) and we got busted with our only probation in MBB history. The ncsu violations were apparently more egregious/flagrant, they got the same punishment as we did (~1 year) and they got a NCAA champeenship the following year. What did we get? Bucky Waters fired and a couple more losing records...weezie wrote:Interesting story.
