Reading Rainbow

One of my favorite shows of all time is about to go off the air forever.

Following recent research suggesting that public television should teach kids how to read, rather than helping them come to love reading, major funding outfits shifted their funding away from shows like 'Reading Rainbow.' Now, the program's broadcast rights are expiring, and nobody waits in the wings to offer up the hefty sum required to renew them. 'RR' thus won't be back on TV anytime soon, if ever.
Quite a sad day in my world. :( =((

That's too bad. I bet if you asked Levar Burton which role he was prouder of, Geordi or his involvement on RR, he'd say RR in two seconds. I didn't realize he was with the show for 26 years...that's a full career.

What?! They can't do that... All of the decent TV shows have already been cut, only to be replaced with the crap that kids are fed nowadays. Seriously, watching some of the newer young-kid TV shows makes me feel like I'm growing dumber by the minute. I realize they aren't made for people my age, but I'm pretty sure that "Arthur" and other shows like that weren't quite as bad. It really annoys me how incredibly slow the characters talk in newer shows.

But anyways, back to RR... :o3 :o3
