I don’t know that I ever said, tbh.

620 days from today is Christmas, 2026. I will have my 30 years in on January 2, 2027, so my thought is to try to survive until Christmas, take a week of vacation, and get away from Jethro and the assorted morons of the salt mine. I will bag groceries at Trader Joe’s, or work at Costco, or something, but I have to get away from there.

I used to dream about making widgets, where I could leave my job when I walked out the door. My job now follows me (I had literally 8 deputies and troopers contact me in Costa Rica, one of whom did not understand "I am in Costa Rica and cannot talk" and sent me a lengthy fact scenario via text). At the moment I'm absurdly fond of a decent paycheck, but I figure at 30 years the pension and relative lack of stress will make up for any gap in salary.
