Re: Ymm, Beer!
An unfair comparison (forgot to take photo):
Oaktoberfest-Red Oak Brewing
IYKYK
Always in the running for best Oktoberfest bier if a tasting occurs. Clean, fresh, honest beer with yeasty, bready and caramely flavors. Probably 5.5% ABV, low IBU. Thanks @AugustWest! Low cat 3.

Re: Ymm, Beer!
Fuller’s London Pride-Asahi UK Brewing
IOW, not local
I’ve never had a Japanese English amber ale before . Another non-sexy but absolutely solid beer with bready, yeasty, caramely flavors and soft mouthfeel. ABV of 4.7% and 30ish IBU. Thanks @Bob_Green who showed us yesterday there’s more in his fridge than Miller High Life . High cat 2.

Grocery store beer (forgot to take photo ):
Bourbon Barrel Cru-Hardywood Park Craft Beers
I’d drink this Belgian style quad every damn night if given the choice. Tons of booze soaked dark, dried fruits and caramel. Guessing IBU around 30 and recall sez ABV about 12%. Another thanks @Bob_Green who again proved there is more to beer drinking than Pacifico lager .

Mortal Bloom-Founders Brewing Company
Another palate cleanser. Sunshine yellow, hazy and citrusy but “contains no fruit” as the label clearly proclaims . Higher IBU @50 than Ida guessed with pretty standard 6.4% ABV for those calculating BAC. A high cat 2 porch pounder and a tip of the pint glass @AugustWest for sharing.

Re: Ymm, Beer!
Happy Camper 2024 Reunion Ale-Hardywood Park Craft Brewery
Local for that guy/mule
Two barrel aged wheatwines, one from Heaven Hill bourbon casks and the other from grape brandy vessels, yielded a boozy, caramely sipper whose flavor was delightfully enhanced by incorporating sweet orange peel, vanilla beans and dried cherries into the concoction; a beer “Old Fashioned,” I guess.
IBU might be 40 and the ABV was 13%. Brian, the Hardywood brewmeister, is pure genius. Huge shout out @wbmcards88 for sharing. High cat 3.

Re: Ymm, Beer!
New beer to me, somewhat surprisingly, considering how many good beers I’ve enjoyed from Columbus.
IPA-Columbus Brewing Company
Of course it’s local
Credit-mine, plus the need for traders and a few platform beers of my own
Style-westie
Format-12 oz can, no sharing
PKGD ON-06/18/24 08:51 2682/83
Glassware-New Glarus cylindrical pint
Appearance-clean/clear light bronze; good foam
Nose-zesties of oranges and grapefruits; pine
Mouthfeel-solid bite
Tastes-matched the nose with a few drops of citrus juices and a drop of resin
IBU-I’ll guess low 50s
ABC-6.3%
Overall impression-good repping for the style/brewery
Ymm, Beer rating-high cat 2; would be interesting side by side with Land Grant’s Stiff Arm

Terrapin Beer Company Coastal Daydream West Coast style IPA courtesy @AugustWest
I poured it into a pint glass. It poured slightly cloudy with a small head. Taste good. Has a sharp but pleasant aftertaste.
Yep, I would drink it again. Thanks BJ!
